I heard the 20k sub is nonsense and can be used finish in just 1 week of 1 month. is the 35k sub the same? Maybe can be used finish and only difference is speed. Please be sure of the 35k sub before replying. ano wan knack head and later regret
When I bought the 5G router sometime last year when I was having issue with my Starlink dish (in April I think), it came with the 20k unlimited 20mbps plan and I used it through out the month without exhausting it. But from people’s experience I’ve read online, I believe the download speed gets throttled after using 1 terabyte of data.

The 20k sub is unlimited but comes with a speed cap of 20Mbps. The only challenge you might likely face is coverage and in such case all you need to do is contact Airtel via twitter, give them details of your area of coverage and in 2 days you should be firing.

I just ported, I don't miss Starlink as the 20Mbps speed is more than enough for my needs. 20-35k is a fair price for monthly internet. Unless you are sharing with pipo, 75k is ridiculous especially as it comes without battery back up.

The speed is far better than most Nigeria Telecom companies around here,in my own case I forced the service on two of our tenants each resident in a 1 bed apartment, I took 120k upfront from each of them and peg their speed to 2Mbps, still looking for More clients to do same for
2MBytes/s or 2Mbits/s. If it’s the latter then you are scamming your tenants. That’s horrible from you.

Haba now, take am easy with the hearsay. The 20k sub is a speed-based plan (20MBPS), and it is unlimited. Same for 35k and above...
I was surprised reading that too. But then again, I know some people will condemn the airtel offer based on their poor experience.

For me, this Airtel is the best legit unlimited data I have ever enjoyed from any of our local isp. It is more than adequate for my use case and I can't say I regret buying it. For the price, it's a win win for me.

120k for a year subscription or what?

2Mbps is rather poor considering you have unlimited data. Or u mean they pay 120k/yr (10k/month) for unlimited data but capped at 2mbps.
Re: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by confluence: 5:49pm On Jan 26, 2025
Is 10k per month, speed is fantastic, as I give each tenant to connect up 3 devices each running at 2mbps, some of tenant do 3 to 3 gig download per day, when you add it up some are doing 20 to 25gig per month, because most times they use it mostly in the evening and weekend when at home. It is unlimited yes but cap at 2mbps maximum speed

What is horrible, you don't know what you are talking about, I have some of the tenants install kodi on their system and they stream virtually all DStv channels. Each tenant can connect up to 3 device each at that speed concurrently

2Mbps * 3 devices = 6 Mbps maximum demand
6Mbps * 2 tenants = 12 Mbps maximum demand

Starlink on a bad day can still deliver nothing less than 50Mbps; leaving 38Mbps for you
On a good day, 150 - 300Mbps is not unusual, leaving 138Mbps - 288Mbps for you

Note that data usage is unlimited. You might need to reconsider. While unlimited data at 10k/2Mbps x 3 devices per month
might look good to them, there is still plenty on the table without hurting your own speed.

At least 4Mbps for a start per device; maxing it at 24Mbps
or 10Mbps per SSID maxing out at 20Mbps
This second option is preferred and each tenant can have their own SSID and share the 10Mbps speed how they like among
their devices.

But if you're on the roaming plan and in Lagos; soon to be 167k; all bets are off!
Good luck.

I have been using an isp on 5mbps unlimited bandwidth for about 4yrs now. During the day am pegged to a data plan but once its 8pm .. its unlimited. Serves me well but like all networks there are ups n down. I have my smart TV on it, 2 phones n 2 pc. Still consume up to 500gb monthly
Re: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by confluence: 12:19pm On Jan 27, 2025
yes, you have an idea what I do, I have about 4 TVs connected to It, two in my parent's apartment two on my side, and a whole lot of other devices. I needed the extra bandwidth for other potential clients.

Isn't this wickedness and you are proud of it sef.
Why will you make someone pay high and you restrict their speed to 2mbps? That can't even give a HD video experience.

I'm also sharing my starlink with people and they pay as little as 3k monthly and they can harvest whatever speed they can get.
It doesn't stop me from enjoying my starlink as I still always get a download speed of 150mbps or more myself.

Do you just share WiFi password to them and limit the speed on your 3rd party router?

Do you whitelist?

How do you assure that the person you give your password can't get the password from his phone and use in other devices? (though I know you'll see the extra unknown devices from your management).
Anyone that has your password can get it from his device easily. Except you are whitelisting

microtik has got tons of ways to manage all this task, not an issue at all.

Using SSIDs as an option; you can create one and assigned number of connected users and speed, e.g.
10 users/ 10Mbps. Whether the neighbor decides to share the password with 10 people or use it alone, the speed will never exceed 10Mbps.
And the more people the neighbor shares the password with, the more his (the neighbor's) speed reduces.
Owner's speed remains untouched.

So here is an update to my previous post with regards to switching back to Airtel 5G. As I mentioned earlier, if you're experiencing terrible connection speeds do not panic, reach out to Airtel on twitter and give them full details of your area/location. It will be resolved in about 2 days.

My speed as at today has improved to 21Mbps. This is actually enough to run my business. Thank you all 🙏🏾
You're very lucky me for the past 4 Month them no fit do anything even after making contact the speed always drop to around 5Mbps and Ping always out of the roof

Mine is tomorrow 1st. I don’t know why I’m having this feeling that the 50% increase approved by the federal government also applies to Starlink which is why we haven’t heard anything about the new price yet. But who knows, I might be wrong. I will update the forum tomorrow of the amount my card is charged tomorrow. Hopefully still the 38k.
