Lurker4Long:
1) Rwandan soldiers, NOT security officers;
2) Congolese customs border guards NOT Armed forces of the DRC;
3) Rwandan invasion of DRC NOT fighting.

Vast difference for those of us who read for meaning.

I've crossed that border post a few times and the Rwandan security officers there wear blue uniforms, not the military uniforms of the Rwanda military.
On the Congolese side, the Customs guards wear that cammo, yes, but they are not soldiers and they only have sidearms. 1000m away there's a FARDC checkpoint with soldiers in different uniforms with assault rifle etc.

Some of us know the difference between customs officials at a border post, and soldiers. And we know when invaders are trying to justify their aggression and propaganda.
I hope this has been educative enough for you.
Did you read the post ?
Rwandan security officers escorting members of the Armed Forces of the Democratic, I never said they engaged them in fighting and from the images its is visible they're where been escorted to surrender.

Yeap they're Border gaurds, But they are at least armed men. Tell me how this post is propaganda or false narration.

Troops Intercept Cache of Weapons Meant for Terrorists in Zamfara

Troops of the 1 Brigade, Operation FANSAN YANMA in collaboration with the Department of State Services (DSS), have intercepted a cache of weapons in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

The operation, conducted between Jan. 26 and Jan. 27, was based on intelligence regarding suspected arms dealers from Niger Republic, a military sources told Zagazola Makama.

The troops launched a covert operation to track the suspects, leading to a pursuit along the Kaura Namoda-Zurmi road. The suspects attempted to escape by diverting their vehicle into the bush but were forced to abandon it after being engaged by troops.

A search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of the following items: Two PKT machine guns, Nine AK-47 rifles, 13 magazines, 171 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, and Nine rounds of PKT ammunition.

The suspects, however, managed to escape.
The source added that security forces are intensifying efforts to track and apprehend the fleeing suspects.

It is amazing to me how people just cannot tell fact from propaganda. Especially when it comes from Kagame/Rwanda.
I for one have not cared to update myself on international matters outside ECOWAS since COVID

Every significant news since COVID have always caught me unawares and ignorant. So people like me have takes that may seem shallow.

Where not saying the same thing.

NA especially lacks basic survival kits, the SOF is nothing to right home about .
Our budget is not so bad that it can't equip our SOF with proper/quality equipment and gear.

It's like quality and basic equipment are alloen to you guys, Are you not irritated seeing our SOF with rusty Aks..
Exactly. What our SF are using, is below standards even for a modern army. The basic USMC marine is more equipped than the NA SF operator.

Nigeria’s CDS urges Niger, others to rescind decisions to quit ECOWAS

Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Gen. Christopher Musa, has urged the Republics of Niger, Burkina Faso, and Mali to rescind their decisions to quit the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

Musa made the appeal in a remarks at the 5th Lake Chad Governors’ Forum on Wednesday in Maiduguri.
He urged them to rescind their decision to quit the regional body in spite of the Jan. 29, exit deadline.
“We urge our brothers in Niger, Mali, and Burkina Faso to remain part of ECOWAS.
“We must not allow political differences to divide us. The strength of Africa lies in our unity and cooperation.
“Our collective efforts to address regional security challenges, such as terrorism, insurgency, and climate change, are critical to our shared prosperity.” he said.
the CDS said maintaining regional cooperation was vital for the stability of the Lake Chad Basin, a region severely affected by violent extremism and other security challenges.
According to him, the crucial role of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) is not to be overemphasised, saying there was need for continued support for its operations in addressing cross-border security issues.
“We stand united in our mission to rebuild and stabilise the Lake Chad region. It is essential that we continue to work together, with all stakeholders, to ensure lasting peace and development.
“We must not allow political rifts to derail the progress we have made. The stakes are too high for our people,” he said.
The CDS acknowledged the significant sacrifices made by the armed forces and other security agencies in the region and called for more support from both national governments and international partners to further strengthen the stabilisation efforts.
He also underscored the importance of a balanced approach, combining both kinetic and non-kinetic actions to achieve sustainable peace.
“Challenges will always come, but we shall prevail. Together, we will overcome them. The people of the Lake Chad Basin have shown remarkable resilience, and with continued unity, we will achieve lasting peace and prosperity,” he said.

The-week-long 5th Lake Chad Governors’ Forum, is expected to provide platform for further discussions on regional security, the return of displaced persons, and the implementation of the stabilisation strategy in the affected areas.

The forum, which brings together regional leaders and stakeholders, focuses on promoting peace, stability, and sustainable development in the Lake Chad Basin.

No outright slaughter of innocents so far. And a professional set up with the infiltration of their army followed closely by their Police with dogs etc

I’d take this to be a joke. Read about the M23

In fact, that entire region has the worst human rights records in Africa. Most ICC Nobel prize winners are from there.

Not just DRC, every other country in there, South Sudan, CAR, Uganda, Burundi and Rwanda have their hands full with 🩸

Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by rugged7(m):
lol...Rwanda is taking the South African cowards for a ride...

Paul Kagame
@PaulKagame
I held two conversations this week with President Ramaphosa on the situation in Eastern DRC, including earlier today. What has been said about these conversations in the media by South African officials and President Ramaphosa himself contains a lot of distortion, deliberate attacks, and even lies. If words can change so much from a conversation to a public statement, it says a lot about how these very important issues are being managed.

A few important clarifications for the record:

1. The Rwanda Defence Force is an army, not a militia.

2. SAMIDRC is not a peacekeeping force, and it has no place in this situation. It was authorized by SADC as a belligerent force engaging in offensive combat operations to help the DRC Government fight against its own people, working alongside genocidal armed groups like FDLR which target Rwanda, while also threatening to take the war to Rwanda itself.

3. SAMIDRC displaced a true peacekeeping force, the East African Community Regional Force, and this contributed to the failure of the negotiation processes.

4. President Ramaphosa has never given a "warning" of any kind, unless it was delivered in his local language which I do not understand. He did ask for support to ensure the South African force has adequate electricity, food and water, which we shall help communicate.

5. President Ramaphosa confirmed to me that M23 did not kill the soldiers from South Africa, FARDC did.

6. If South Africa wants to contribute to peaceful solutions, that is well and good, but South Africa is in no position to take on the role of a peacemaker or mediator. And if South Africa prefers confrontation, Rwanda will deal with the matter in that context any day.

How is ECOWAS helping to check the movement of arms?

It is rather doing the opposite. ECOWAS requires free movement between member states. No visas, thus no background checks.

I think ECOWAS hides under that charter to run clueless as regards immigration.

Nigeria is only waking up to proper ID this late into the 21st century. I believe it is worse in the remaining states.

Zamfara Gov Receives Weapons Seized from Gunrunner

Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has received a cache of weapons seized from a suspected gunrunner intercepted by the Department of State Services (DSS) while smuggling the arms from Niger Republic.

Speaking at the handover ceremony in Gusau, Lawal commended the security agencies for their synergy and proactive intelligence gathering, which led to the successful interception.

He reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting security forces in tackling banditry, kidnapping, and other crimes in the state.

“These weapons could have ended up in the hands of criminals terrorizing our people. I commend the DSS and all security agencies for their diligence and coordination,” Lawal said.

The governor called on the public to support security efforts by providing credible intelligence and cooperating with law enforcement agencies.

Lawal assured residents that his government would continue collaborating with security agencies to strengthen counter-banditry operations across Zamfara and the Northwest region.

The above happened few days/weeks ago, imagine if ECOWAS falls apart, security agencies of member states will find it difficult to Crack down on weapons smugglers, cross border patrols would be a thing of the past etc

Borderless travel is not the concern here. Arms smugglers never use the front door. We need to man our borders properly. The previous government was on to border technology program, any word?
