B2 is a tourist with medical visa type yea you can call for an emergency appointment

BUT
B1/B2 is mainly Tourist/Vacation visa type NO room for emergency appointment.... Except if there is a death issue issue and you must have a valid proof

Go and verify it. Please don't dash US embassy money this is 2025.

But B1/B2 is simply of combination of B1 and B2 visas into one. How is it that you can get emergency appointments for B1 or B2 separately but not for the combined visa??

Hey Guys. I’m currently in the USA on a B1/B2 visa and I just found a way to apply for an ITIN - independent taxpayer identification number. I needed to get this because I cannot get an SSN

I am on a B1/B2 visa and plan on buying a property which is not in violation of my visa

To buy a property I need an ITIN because I would be paying property taxes

NB: I have no intention of living in the USA. I am just buying the property as an investment and I would return to Nigeria and have an agency handle rental and management for me.

Will these cause me to have issues when I’m renewing my B1/B2 visa ?

I’m doing two things
-Acquiring an ITIN
-Buying a property outright in full (no mortgage)

NB:
-I have not violated my visa conditions. There is no where that states that a B1/B2 holder cannot buy property

-I will be returning back to Nigeria after staying about 3 months to acquire my ITIN and buy the property in full. Full amount is available

Please advise, will this pose me any problems with embassy in future?

There is no law that stops anyone on a B1/B2 visa from buying property in the U.S. so it should technically not have any implications for a future visa renewal. I have relatives who also bought U.S. properties as investments and old classmates on F1s who bought properties before moving back to their home countries after school.

Unsolicited advice: Since you are buying outright and will not have a mortgage, you might want to consider setting up an LLC and buying the property under the name of the LLC. Using an LLC indemnifies you and protects you to some extent against liability if a tenant decides to sue you in civil court. You can read up online on the pros and cons of an LLC speak to a lawyer. Some lawyers offer a free 30 min to 1 hr session at no cost to talk to prospective clients on issues like this.

You will need your ITIN to register your LLC because the state department of revenue has to know who is behind the LLC. The EIN is then generated after the LLC has been registered. Therefore you must have both ITIN and EIN.

If buying a property in the name of an LLC, you must provide an EIN for that LLC because the taxes from the revenue generated from that rental property will be linked to the EIN on all tax documents. The LLC will be listed on the property deed. This is how the IRS taxes corporate profits.

I think those of you seeing the annotation thing probably paid through the counter at the bank.

Someone just approached me of having the same issue. She was taken to a regular appointment calendar even when she is qualified for Interview Waiver. I recommend that she cancel the appointment and pay another fee as the only solution to get out of it.

She agreed. So I cancelled the appointment, Pay another fee ONLINE using a Card and answered the questions. This time I was also looking out for the annotation thing you guys were referring to but it didn't come up.

When we got to the calendar page, we saw April, 2025.

I paid at the counter of the bank i did not see the annotation they're talking about.
It was just the regular questions until it took me to the IW page.

Meanwhile, can someone tell me the procedure at OIS. I will drop off my documents on the 26th of February, 2025.

URGENT PLEASE!!!

Guys, has anyone been able to use F1/F2 interview appointment for a B1/B2 visa interview instead or the reverse? that is, you had an F2 interview date, but decided to apply for a tourist visa instead, and paid another fee for the B1/B2, can you use the F2 interview date for B1/B2 instead or vice versa? anyone who has experience with this should please let me know how you did it.
