Reno Omokri is responding to X’s user who alleged Yoruba not allowing seaport to exist in Southeast

Thank you for your feedback. This is the first time I will hear that being chameleons and backstabbers is conducive to progress.

Let us examine your claims factually. During the Nigerian Civil War, the Republic of Biafra had two main leaders: Lt. Colonel Emeka Ojukwu and Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe.

In 1969, Dr. Azikiwe abandoned Biafra and turned up in Lagos alongside General Gowon to condemn Biafra and Ojukwu.

Then again, on January 11, 1970, Lt. Colonel Ojukwu ran away from Biafra and abandoned his people to their fate.

Now, compare these behaviours with those of leaders of the Lukumi people.

In the history of Nigeria, only two men have returned to Nigeria to face almost certain death, even when they had the option of a very comfortable political asylum abroad. Both of them are Yoruba.

In 1985, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida toppled the Buhari regime while Major General Tunde Idiagbon (mixed Yoruba/Fulani) was at Mecca, yet Idiagbon returned.

In 1995, Olusegun Obasanjo (pure Owu Yoruba) was accused of planning a coup by the bloodthirsty tyrant Abacha while he was away in Copenhagen.

He was informed by the then US Ambassador, Walter Carrington, that Abacha meant to arrest, try and execute him, and was offered political asylum in the United States.

He returned to face almost certain death.

What more example of bravery can there be than these two shining ones?

Furthermore, there is the example of Colonel Francis Adekunle Fajuyi, who chose to die with the then Head of State, Johnson Aguiyi-Ironsi, rather than abandon his guest, which he was at liberty to do.

The Yoruba are a very tactful and diplomatic people. Some people mistake these attributes for cowardice, sycophancy, or, as you, Kenechi, put it, 'chameleons backstabbers'.

Lukumi leaders will NEVER abandon their people to their fates during a crisis.

As for the seaport, can you, Kenechi, kindly explain how a landlocked region can get a port? Even the Onitsha River port that the Federal Government spent so much on, what became of it?

No he doesn't have bad mouth. He is a common tout who makes a living through rabble rousing. For real he is not knowledgeable considering the type of claims he makes. A lot of people, including those who don't like him use to take him serious until he began to expose his ignorance.

The claim of southeast being landlocked has been bursted severally here. Several rivers empties into the Ocean from southeast including Azumini in Abia which is actually closer to the Atlantic than many parts of Rivers

Note that the southeast is different from Igboland. Ever since we publicised the Igboness of Opobo, Bonny and many Igbo speaking area that live at the ocean shore in Rivers state, they slowed down the claims that Igboland is landlocked.

Nigerians are funny you know and that is giving Reno the little relevance he is enjoying.

The ignorance of this man is getting to its peak. With modern day engineering Nsukka and Uli will berth cargo vessles. Onitsha river port is a write off courtesy of the second Niger bridge. There abound existing waterways and dredging them to draft depths is all that is required.

With new technologies, the river will not need dredging. There barges that can scale very well on shallow waters and perform as good as barges in deep ocean . The only issue is that we might need so many of them to carry a ship load. The alternative is another suez or Panama type of canal via the opobo to aba axis
