A cow at 1.7 million is very very cheap but unfortunately not affordable.

Nigerians should learn how to eat periwinkle.
Far cheaper and healthier.

When we abandon cow meat for 2 months , their brain go reset.

Rubbish.

Awagusom:
there are many factors that contributed to that. Over 120 police, military, quarantine officers, including state factors like touts collecting produces fee. Imagine pay all the way to lagos . How do you expect cow to be cheap. Driver spend over 900k now as road settlement and produce.
Very APT. Thugs and touts on every road in Nigeria. grin grin grin grin

Necessity is the mother of all invention.

If beef is costly, there are alternatives like fish, mutton, lamb, chevron, pork, chicken etc. These are rich source of protein too.

Nigerians, una too like complain....
Please what is the price of these alternatives now compared with 2023, or even compared with 2015?

How does the increase compare with the minimum wage amount for each time period huh

Thunder fire whoever is still supporting this disastrous government......I won't be surprised if it gets to 3million before the end of this year.

Why can't you say the truth for once? this man!

People can no longer afford to buy meat and other proteins, this demand dropped! Not what you are saying. The other problem listed are as a result of the archaic nomadic system of rearing cattle, a practice that the herders adamantly and defiantly refused to stop.

Is it not when demand increase that supply will increase?

Cow meat is now expensive in Nigeria and most people are now using fish in place of cow meat.
I think you don't go to the market. Fish is very expensive too. The only alternative is ponmo and crayfish or cook your omi obe with nothing inside.

1)No be everybody dey like fish. And fish cannot replace meat in this life. Fish cannot give u that taste and satisfaction meat gives.
2) Mutton/ Lamb are not easily available and accessible.
3) Chevon or Goat meat is also very expensive despite being filled wit bones and less flesh. Goat meat is very expensive too. But very sweet.
4) Pork, not everybody eats pork. And perhaps pork is also expensive and not something u can get in the market easily except u stay in places where it is generally eaten like Plateau state or some parts of Nassarawa state. Or a place generally dominated by the Chinese.
5) Chicken too is not that cheap but it's better. But how many Chicken u wan buy in a month? Especially for an average Nigerian?

Beef has bn the number one source of meat and protein for most Nigerians because it comes cheap and is easily accessible. But this ur APC government has made beef a luxury.

Conclusively, blame the government policies and not the populace for the astronomical rise in the price of beef.

Its not just cow meat, its everything.
