Samogloby:bros Hw many wars south African soldiers Don fight.... Kagame himself is a guerrilla fighter....South African soldiers haven't been involved in any kind of war before, so you can't say it will defeat Rwanda.... Why did the US fail in Afghanistan? After spending more than 20 yrs? |

foxman04:You do not know what you are saying. Go and read your history as to the activities of the South African army in Namibia, Angola, Mozambique, etc in the 70s and 80s. South Africa was well on its way to developing a nuclear program before the US convinced F W de Klerk to dismantle the project in 1989. The veterans of the South African army are the ones who make up groups like Executive Decisions and other mercenary armies that are very active all over Africa and other parts of the world. Google what Executive Decisions did to the RUF rebels in TWO WEEKS in Sierra Leone when ECOMOG was struggling. The scenes you saw from the film Blood Diamonds as to how the Russian-made attack helicopters took out the RUF guys in the mine was not fiction: it actually played out all over Sierra Leone. The South African army is the best trained and best equipped in Africa. Make no mistake about it. Everything you see in Rwanda was built with the solid minerals in eastern DR Congo via the proxy operations of M23 and other groups. This is an open secret. |

SmartyPants:Countries rules of engagement and motivations are quite different based on the type of conflict. Israeli troops harassed French peace keepers in Lebanon, that doesn't mean Israel can wage a direct war against a fully motivated France. Nigeria army got routed by Boko haram very close to the 2014 election, many soldiers ended up fleeing the war. Until the SA mercenaries arrived to drive Shekau boys back and restore NA confidence in the fight. Does that mean Nigeria is no match for South Africa should the two engage in direct conflict? The Tigrays, who were very professional with years of fighting experience compared to the ill-motivated and unprofessional Ethiopian army were very close to overrunning Ethiopia's capital in the recent civil war but they end up losing. The point is you cannot use a country's record in unconventional war to judge its conventional capabilities. They require very different skill set. |

THERE MUST BE PEACE IN AFRICA, WHETHER THE DEVIL LIKES IT OR NOT. RWANDA AND CONGO ARE NEIGHBOURS AND THE BORDERS MUST BE RESPECTED. SOUTH AFRICA HAS NO PART IN THIS FIGHT AND THEY SHOULD NOT GET INVOLVED . THIS IS A MATTER FOR AFRICA UNION TO RESOLVE. |

God1000:How do you mean Felix Tshisekedi is weak president? Somebody is fighting a rebel group with all his might...and u called him a weak president? He can only become a weak president if he sits back and watch those tutsi rebels natives of Rwanda to take control of eastern congo thereby handing over their mineral resources to Kegame. |

its so funny cos Rwanda is such a tiny country. a speck compared to DRC or South Africa. they must have people dictating the tune behind them to have to balls to challenge SA or even disrupt DRC. ordinary mercenaries from SA suppose fit over run them in 24 hours |

Ignoramus:You know nothing about international politics, the west will obviously waste no time in supporting Rwanda why? Because SA is a member of BRICS, SA has the guts to take Israel of ICJ. Bro SA is inexperienced when it comes to war, their military is in a bad shape currently.. are you even on Twitter? SA citizens over there are not praying for it cos they're done for😂 |

President Paul Kagame is taking the matter too far. South Africa is not Hutu , Burundi, Intarewhange or DRC where he would expect an easy walkover. |

bro4u:You are the kid. If you have not noticed our complete absence in foreign affairs then you must be vacant upstairs. If you have not noticed our economic situation then you must not even be old enough to pay bills yet - thats the only reason you will not know. If you dont know how poorly equipped our military is in its wars in the north, you dont know anything. Abeg park. You really imagine we have money to go and fight in DRC. Ordinary Niger Republic on our border we had to back down shamefully after making mouth. |

Mynd44:You think Rwanda is acting on its own? It is like oshodi under bridge back in the day where one small young area boy will call you to come and then optain you, because the actual alayes are behind smoking weed. Israel, cia etc are likely behind kigame giving him morale. They want to messup SA. Don't forget the criticism of SA against Israels war on gaza also the dragging of it's leaders to the ICC. |

Xisnin:You are mixing up all sorts of issues. And you should take careful note of the various factors I highlighted. I said Rwanda has a more professional army, but I also pointed out that the theatre of war will be in Rwanda's backyard. If you analyze logically, you will see that all the issues you attempted to raise favor Rwanda. 1. Countries have different motivations and rules of engagement. Are you telling me the South Africans will have a greater motivation over a war in another region than Rwandans who share ethnic ties with M23? 2. False equivocation of South African mercenaries with SANDF. The South African mercenaries who came to help Nigeria are largely the remnants of former apartheid military unites from South Africa and Rhodesia. These are professional, battle-hardened solders who were considered among the best in the world. Were Nigeria to fight against an army of such soldiers, we would certainly lose. This is the complete opposite to the modern day SANDF which is a force lacks any sort of military history and tradition. 3. The Tigrayan failure. Logistics and capability to sustain operations matter. In military strategy, it is commonly said troops must never advance faster than supply. What does this mean? Food, fuel, arms and ammunition must be readily available at the front line otherwise, the troops will be rendered completely ineffective. That is exactly why the Tigrayans failed once they advanced too far. What does this further mean? It means that the force that is fighting closer to home and closer to its supply lines has a massive advantage. Who do you think that would favour in this hypothetical conflict? 4. Success in unconventional warfare is not an indicator of success in conventional warfare. When the comparison is between a battle-hardened army like Rwanda's and a comparatively amateur force like the SANDF, of course it is a major factor. In every field, there is a huge difference between theory and practicals, and most of the SANDF have never heard a short fired in a real conflict before. This means the Rwandans will go into such a conflict much better prepared mentally which can make all the difference. And by the way, you still haven't answer my question: What is this capability of the SANDF that you speak of? |

Rwanda is the closest to this conflict. South Africa...I am not sure what their business is in the conflict given the proximity. On the other hand, the tiny Rwanda needs to be careful before it is maxed out by South Africa. Someone should send the Rwanda President the Map of Africa. God1000:
