Nigerians, lets unite and voice out on why our number plates are always fading and scraping off. This is very embarrassing tbh. I heard that Road Safely officials recently resorted to arresting vehicle owners for faded number plates, before they were stopped by court ruling. It clearly shows the malicious and deliberate intention to keep renewing these number plates perpetually. If you understand the cost elements per number plate produced in the country, and how some individuals are profiting, you will know this is corruption of the highest order. Why are we like this? I have traveled to many African countries, not to mention Europe and America and I don't see vehicle number plates peeling like our own. FRSC is useless, I swear. These plate numbers are not cheap and they can't give us something that's durable. The worst part is that everybody is just keeping quiet. I was able to deduce the reason as thus: In Nigeria, the authorities just put a sticker on the metallic number plate during finishing. These stickers are prone to weather degradation and wear. Whereas, in saner climes, they directly coat the metallic plates with durable autobase paints. Is this too hard for us to dooooo?

slex:Replace it on whose cost exactly? You mean Nigerians will keep replacing number plates endlessly when you can settle this problem with quality material. |

A faded plate lies on the owner. Is your car always at the workshop Do keke with okada and taxis remain your front view daily Are you always driving in rough area Bad roads Those factors say a lot about your car. How to tell a cars age,I mean Nigerian used Just just look at the plates Both front and back. From thr, make your judgement. |

Heffalump:I dont know who will beat the cost , it's good to demand more quality from those agencies but I'm also addressing the "arrest" part of what the Op wrote. |
