Good one. I was wondering the other day when nlders were celebrating the electric vehicle from Uganda I think and abusing Nigeria. Not knowing Nigeria has several electric vehicles companies.

Slowly and surely, we will get there.

But whatever terrible reason, we don't know about these.
Our minds are still filled up with Toyota, Lexus, Mercedes... and many other foreing brands, new and used cars.
There's not Adverts for Nigerian Brand of cars or motorcycles on TV, Radio, Internet, and other media.
If it's not advertised, people won't just know about it

Did you notice the difference?
For the American/foreign ones, the advert is about the car. They just talk about the car with detailed focus and what it does,
safety, reliability, cost of the car...

For the Nigerian one, the advert is filled up with multiple vehicles without any detailed focus on any one car.
No idea of the price. It's like even they are afraid to advertise their own car.

The Jet Motor Company was founded in 2018 by Chidi Ajaere, Chairman of the GIG Group which comprises GIG Motors and GIG Logistics, leading brands in the African mobility space. They produce petrol, CNG and electric powered vehicles like buses, pickup trucks, ambulances and utility vehicles.

Jet Mover is a bus/van that was introduced in 2021 and Jet Motor Company says that it is the first Nigerian made fully electric vehicle to ply Nigerian roads.

The 13 seater max torque (maximum rotational force) of 600 NM (higher than most SUVs.) and a high-capacity lithium iron phosphate battery. It sells for approximately ₦145 million to ₦150 million, excluding Value Added Tax (VAT).

The Jet Mover has been bought and is being used by GIG Mobility, theFederal Government and the Lagos, Edo and Delta state governments.

It is produced at the Jet Motors factory in Lekki, Lagos.

We don't have the basic infrastructure in place but we are pushing EVs. I'm sorry for the ones who fall for the hype and don't have deep pockets. Yes you can swap batteries ...but how many battery charging stations are there in ..... Lagos?...how many gas stations? ...put up these numbers and even the blind can see the problem. All the stuff. Sound good on paper ..... fall for the hype and come back to testify.

By the way, your claim is baseless because there are more yorubas with electric vehicle manufacturing companies than igbos. Maybe you have to read again.

Not that the tribe of the founders matter but there are more yorubas than igbos

Roxettes Motors was founded by Architect Kelechi Orji. Its assembly plant is in Enugu and it is building another assembly plant at Obu-Aku City in Abia State.

They assemble the Blaze-X (a pickup truck), Lumen VX-7 (another pickup truck), Aero-U75 Plus (an SUV), Surge X (another SUV) and Volta X (a hatchback) models of electric vehicles.

I didn't include this initially because I have created an entire thread about it, but on second thought, I have decided to include it.

Sterling Bank created Qore to help in financing the electric vehicle revolution.

Qore finances the construction of solar charging stations, it provides loans and leases so that people can buy electric vehicles or convert their petrol powered cars to electric vehicles, it provides a way by which people can pay to rent batteries for electric vehicles, etc. They even brought Mustapha Gajibo to Lagos to build a solar charging station on Victoria Island.

Sterling Bank is big on solar power and they even completely covered their headquarters building with solar panels a few years ago (this enabled them to go off grid).

First of all, it is now rebranded as Qoray 😊

And yes they have a very wide EV portfolio

i just discovered one company in Nigeria called EV World Africa that is testing Electric Vehicles for long distance trips. Here's a link to their video on YouTube. Infact there are multiple videos on their YouTube.
