Remember the young girl who went viral some time ago for allegedly killing her ex-boyfriend and his friends with poisoned pepper soup? She was discharged and acquitted today.

She was falsely accused.

The prosecutor couldn't provide sufficient evidence to claim that the girl murdered those people. That's all.

The courts can't prosecute an accused person based on hearsay. When I said the deceased should be autopsied and the accused should be thoroughly investigated, some people said I was siding her because she was female. Nigerians need to be more critical in thinking and stop judging based on sentiments and hearsay

Only high levelled intellectual thinking nigerians would understand this and sadly only few fall in this category.

Really! I never got to hear this side of the story. Who must have concocted the pepper soup story to setup the girl? I won't be surprised it's one of these hungry bloggers. So disheartening that someone could be roped in to a crime they know nothing about and end up wasting valuable time in detention under terrible conditions. I pity her.

People need to be careful about accusations. Learned she could have been lynched. Too many people dying in this country for something they didn't do.

In Law case aren't won on emotion but hard core evidence beyond all doubt. .even if she did it and the prosecutor could not come up with enough evidence to support their claims and the defense counsel comes up with superior Argument, the ruling goes in favour of the defense regardless.

Even if it is very glaring that she's killed someone and the prosecuting counsel cannot prove the act beyond reasonable doubt, the one with bigger argument takes the day, this is why a hard core criminal will employ the service of a lawyer to stand in and argue for his innocence, the judge only delivers judgment base on evidence and argument, no emotion, no sentiment

In law, no emotion, only evidence count

Court of law is not social media.
