Salary slavery depends on the employee . It depends on what you want for your self.

For instance some people in this country still earn up to N5m every blessed months but they still see it as nothing., that's why most of them decided to japa for further greener pastures.

Come over to the oil and gas sector ir maritime sector then, you'll see those earning way more than that...
Entry level jobs in Shell, Chevron or Total make abt 5m monthly in salary and allowances as a field engineer. In Local oild companies, you can be sure of about 2m as entry level of you have to be on the rig...

In the drilling sector, we have those we call Directional Drillers... For everyday they spend on the rig, the least of them is paid 300k to 500k daily. While the top ones can earn up to a thousand dollars daily.

Guess what, it takes at least 1 month to finish drilling a oil well... Some get to drill like 7 to 10 months in a year. Do the maths!!!

For field Engineers who we call LWD and MWD engineers, they make between 80k to 350k daily depending on their level and they spend a month on the rig before been crew changed.

Schlumberger is recruiting... Try to apply there and trust me, your salary can't be less than 1.7m for entry level. So, imagine those that have 10years experience in such field.

For a single person, I think ₦300,000 and above is okay.

Then for married peeps, ₦500,000 and above is ideal.

When I was earning 100k, I was praying to get a job of like 250k that I won't lack anything again.. now I am earning almost x 20 of that amount and I still get broke sometimes.

The morals of this is that human wants are insatiable. No amount of money cam be enough for you.
Re: What Would You Consider A Good Salary. by telim: 11:45am On Feb 02, 2025
I don't know if i am earning a good salary or not but i earn in excess of what i need per month. For me a good salary should be money that never dries up till your next pay check.

The "goodness" of one's salary depends on your expenses or the billings you gat to settle

If you have dependant, car to fuel and and family to feed a salary of 500k would do almost nothing for you
Re: What Would You Consider A Good Salary. by Omoawoke(m): 7:00pm On Feb 02, 2025
For a single person in Nigeria.
Not less than 1million per month
Re: What Would You Consider A Good Salary. by Nazgul: 7:01pm On Feb 02, 2025
Any salary that can pay your rent, pay your bills, feed your family and still give you the opportunity to save is considered as a good salary regardless of the amount.
