I know they say Tinubu is a Master Strategist but from a practical point of view, I'm struggling to understand what APC thinks they stand to gain from incorporating the likes of Reno and Bwala into its fold. You ostracise political juggernauts like Elrufai who worked so hard for the party in favour of lightweights who have no base and can't even deliver their nuclear families.

From a strategic point of view, Reno and Bwala's messages are not resonating with anyone. Their messages can not convince any new voter in the North, neither is it winning over any obidient. The optics is also generally bad for the APC. Having such disloyal and fickle-minded individuals in the party lends credence to the grievance of some that the party has strayed from its original ideals. Their messages can also be easily neutralized by a simple screenshot of their previous posts about the President and the party. Take a look at the comments under Reno's posts on his handles and all you see supporting him are individuals from the Southwest only. These people would have still voted Tinubu, regardless of what he does.

So I ask again, what is the net gain of bringing them onboard? Is it that Tinubu could not afford to have them openly insulting him on social media? He already survived them in 2023. What more could they have done? Buhari paid no mind to their likes and he completed his two tenures. Rather, bringing them aboard have costed APC some loyal voters.

Birds of the same feathers flocks together people like reno and bwala exhibits some of tinibu's characters that's why he is very comfortable working with them.

All these and many more just in 18months

First of all, Atiku never brought Elrufai to limelight. Elrufai was already an accomplished proffessional and co-founder of one of the foremost quantity surveying firms (Google Elrufai & Partners and checkout their portfolios) in Nigeria even before 1999. Obasanjo brought him to head the BPE after he drafted a privatisation pathway for the country as part of the Transition Committee of the Abdulsalam military to democracy regime. BPE then just happened to be under the Vice President as Head of the economic Council and he never betrayed Atiku. Elrufai has always been wealthy and a cerebral collusus. At least, you now admit that Tinubu already knew his confirmation was not going to scale through, so why did he publicly made him promise to stay back and work with him? That move alone by Tinubu is what is costing him the trust and support of Northerners today, because they always thought he was a man of his word.

Elrufai is a career politician and there's nothing wrong with him aspiring for the presidency after Tinubu. Buhari let all aspirants under APC to contest after his tenure. I guess that's a problem for the President because he apparently never forgave all who contested alongside him, including Osibanjo. So much for being a democrat.

If indeed, it was Shettima who convinced the president to ditch Elrufai, then he simply did it to pave the way for himself. How is that democratic and where is the internal democracy? Is APC now a monarchy where a successor will be annointed? Say what you will, Elrufai worked sincerely to deliver the President and the results simply proved how unsellable and difficult a task that was. Whosoever he supported before the primaries is irrelevant because he didn't sign any pact with Tinubu.

If Tinubu needs the likes of the "Truthful" Reno to sell his policies, it simply leaves a huge question mark on the integrity of the government. Nigerians don't need any spindoctor to tell them about achievements. They will feel it if it exists. Does this now mean that everything Reno said in the past about the President was true? Again, the only person Reno seems to be convincing about this government are the Southwesterners and they hitherto didn't need much convincing.
