As a married man, you're expected to be the provider for your family. But you must be careful not to let your loved ones drain your finances. It's time to be financially prudent, brothers! You must manage your money wisely, avoid unnecessary expenses, and prioritize your family's needs. Don't let your family members turn you into an ATM! Set boundaries, communicate clearly, and make sure everyone understands the importance of financial discipline. And to your wonderful wife, you need her support! She can help protect your family's finances by: Cautioning her family members to respect your financial boundaries Contributing to the family income (if she's not already doing so) Supporting your financial decisions and helping you make wise choices

Na mumu dey accept such trash all in the name of love and marriage. Even after giving birth to my son and mother in-law was around taking care of the baby i.e my wife mother . I keep telling and asking my wife when will she leave because I can not come and drain all in the name of love 😗 I hate what I don't like. |

Tayorshd87:I gave an ultimatum for MIL never to pass the night in my house again because she misbehaved the last time. |

Nnamdipapa:women naturally love to control even their son inlaw, while her daughter may even ask the hubby to obey her mum's selfish attempts at controlling him |
| Re: Naija Men, Let’s Wise Up O by Nnamdipapa(m): 9:07pm On Feb 02, 2025 |
Creamypie:She tried that with me and failed. She always said" I am old enough to be your mom" and I would reply my mom would never try half the shits I get to tolerate from her. I told my wife the day your mom steps in my house, I am walking out of the marriage and I will force her to choose between her mom and her marriage. |

ejitest1:Man go go carry another full-grown adult as dependent only to then complain and cry foul when that fully grown adult reveals she is exactly that, a fully grown adult with a will of her own. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄 Stop deceiving yourselves with this nonsense of being a provider for your family and all. If you are not very well off then you have no business marrying a woman who does not equally bring in income to support the household which is EQUALLY hers to provide for and nurture. If you are not very well off and you cannot stand being your woman's equal in marriage, then maybe marriage— and probably the raising of children— isn't at all for you. ![]() |

Creamypie:Only an immature, poor or foolish man will let anybody control him especially his in-laws. |

gerizzim:A man must stand his ground. Moreover, you don't know exactly what transpired between them. |

Marriage no be for children...everybody wan pursue their mother in law...while me dey here dey miss my lovely and most beautiful hearted woman I have ever known (my late mother in law). Marriage without stable finance na see finish. U see this 2025,every man should go and learn about financial education. That is the only thing that would save u from Marriage wahala, with money not stolen money,u can tolerate any kind of human beings. |

After the actions my inlaws put up, I banned all of them from ever nearing my house. Shishi I no dey send anybody. I don't have time for that in-law rubbish. |
| Re: Naija Men, Let’s Wise Up O by Dogalmighty17: 5:41pm On Feb 08, 2025 |
gerizzim:You never meet some useless mother-in-laws wey no dey consider the interest of their daughters marriage. They will want to frustrate you and instead of your wife to caution her mom, she will just be looking. So if you don't take matters into your own hands then what are you doing? |

Is it by force to date or marry? As a broke man, why chose to marry and start writing epistles on Nairaland. I cannot date such a man. |

As a man, take charge of your home If u looseguard, na u sabi And besides respect should be reciprocal, so the mother inlaw should know her limit in the son inlaw's house. Then if she fail's in that aspect, nothing wrong for the son inlaw to put her in order |
