Sharia criminal laws are not allowed in Nigeria's 1999 constitution. You are a Muslim but don't understand the difference between Sharia criminal laws and Sharia civil laws.

Sharia civil laws and Customary laws are allowed in Nigeria's 1999 Constitution.
Sharia criminal laws include stoning blasphemous persons to death, stoning women to death for adultery, cutting out the hands of thieves, and other outdated but painful punishment methods. The Constitution of Nigeria disallowed Sharia criminal justice system.

One of the earliest demands of the CJN, Tanko Mohammed, appointed by then President Buhari was for Islamic sharia criminal justice system be included in Nigeria's Constitution.
Moslem military dictators from northern Nigeria who supervised the 1999 constitution of Nigeria refused to include sharia criminal justice system in the constitution because they knew the chaos sharia criminal justice system can breed in a society of plural religious faith.
