Good morning House
Please I just purchase a 2014ML350 last year entry-July (owner registered it Nov)
Owner upgraded it to GLE 350
so the dashboard is showing Service AF exceeded by 18.3k miles
Can anyone recommend a good and reliable Engineer I can use to service the car ?
I read here that one doesn’t have to use any type of oil for the MB, so I saw the recommended oil is the MB 229.51 or MB 229.52 oils.
But the mechanic is telling me I can use Star oil bla bla.
I asked the previous owner the type of oil he used on it but he said he hasn’t change the oil since it entered (I don’t know if this is false).
Please kindly help me house
This is my first car and ion wanna go through any mistake whatsoever
Thanks.

Forget about the sensor or wiring, just answer me this . . .

is a functioning thermostat present in the engine at this moment?
Nope

See, let me advise you as a brother and a friend 😉

Forget about any electrian or wiring work or such for now and immediately purchase and fix ONLY a working thermostat in your engine wink

Go to any market or store where tokumbo engines for your vehicle are sold and tell the dealer to remove and sell just the thermostat for you from one of his engines for sale. He will do it gladly for a small fee. Take it to your mechanic and FORCE him to fix it in your engine and return back to me after 24hrs to give thanksgiving cool

Now, Go and sin no more

I don't believe the term service AF in your situation means service Automatic Transmission

A means something, B means another thing, same for C all the way to the F you see there on the dash. I believe you should download the manual for your vehicle and see exactly what the AF actually stands for or better still post on the Mercedes Benz thread we have here for answers.

Please don't touch your transmission or change it's fluid until you've done so to avert trouble

Good morning. Please I need help on my 2007 Hyundai Elantra 2007 rough idle and poor acceleration issue . At times it works perfectly. The last scan showed oxygen sensor failure and we have replaced that all to no avail. Replaced all plugs, flushed all nozzles, checked fuel pump, none seems working. What I noticed is that the problem occurred most when the car battery is disconnected. Although it happens most times without disconnecting the battery

From the bolded above, it seems your vehicle is learning it's idle due to removing and replacing the battery heads. Why it does this randomly might be because your battery is already weak.

Maybe try another (newer) battery and see if it still happens.

I suspect your car is loosing communication in it's line and throwing all sort of codes.
Check fusebox and (communication line) connectors, confirm if there's any loose or shaky fuse and relay, check if the oxygen sensor is well connected, confirm the fuel pump connection is firm.
Use the freeze frame to know what triggers the code and see if it's something you can replicate. Run live scan while at it.

Service the Automatic Choke on the throttle body or replace entire throttle body (injector mouth)

. . . sometimes as little as your battery "heads" terminals can throw you running around, have a look at it and if possible replace them. Had similar experience, partly "invisible" loose contact and battery wasn't getting enough juice. Replaced and that was it.

Hello, Gurus in the House,

My Toyota Corolla 2011 Model jerks on entering gear 2. After scanning, I got the below code P2770. Mechanic says he will disconnect and reconnect the brainbox. Is he saying the right thing? Please any help from gurus here will be appreciated.

ECM/SELENOID/CONVERTER can trigger that error code..After checking the ECM if it doesn't solve it..Then you will have to check the solenoid and converter...

Good morning House,

I last changed oil for 2016 Camry with Total Quartz 9000 0w20 last September. I have 3700 Mileage on it now, but it’s showing Maintenance Required at 3700.

Is this normal ??

Your mechanic failed to reset the maintenance counter when he changed the oil.
You can either use like that and manually calculate when your next oil change would be or you reset and still follow your instinct for the next oil change if the notification is worrisome to you.

Did you at anytime remove ur battery head for days?
My own experience was taking my car for painting oct last year. Picked it up after 2 weeks and the remote was opening only the driver side and booth. I had to open other doors via the central lock. After about 2 weeks everything returned back to normal.

I have not removed the car battery head for over 2 year now and this issue started late year gradually until it is no longer responding.

Gear heads in the house, please I need a your intellectual input.

I'm working on a 2010 rav4 U140e transmission. Gear wasn't shifting from 1 throughout the drive time, owner said everything was fine until she discovered transfluid leaks and one gear master took the car for oil pump and converter replacement. I replaced the converter installed by gear master cos the seal inside was broken, disassembled the valve body, replaced 2 dead solenoids and stiffened the return springs of some shift valves in the valve body a little bit cos I noticed the valves were not returning to their rest position when I plunged them with a tiny screwdriver.
I replaced O rings on the accumulator pistons and cleaned the entire valve body thoroughly

Now gear shifts fine from 1 to 2 but skips gear 3 and then to 4 making the engine rpm to spike high on 3.

Can a low transmission fluid level cause the transmission to skip the third gear? Any suggestion please

Any code?
Monitor each shift solenoid on live scan (especially when shifting to 3) to know if they function the way they should.

P0776
P0748
P2716 but not a live scan yet
I'm however taking out the transmission again to inspect the clutch packs and their pistons. Or possible carry out a pressure or vacuum test on the feed lines to the clutches.

Very normal indeed. The car was built with a programed Service Interval Reminder that is judged by mileage traveled. It may not necessarily be related to Engine oil service but also to several Service requirements such as Transmission fluid change, Engine Air filter, Brake fluid and coolant etc which is usually cross-referenced via the Service Booklet. Its a simple DIY reset that only takes a few seconds
to do but most mechanics don't do it or don't even know how to do it.

Call me on the number on my signature and I will guide you through.

If the clutch fibers are not damaged, my candid advice is to replace by the entire Valve Body hence the non-returning spring loaded plungers. DON'T FORGET TO USE TOYOTA ATF WS to replace transmission fluid.
