Stop saying no amount of money can be enough, the money isn't much and that's why it's not enough.
Me that I said no amount of money is enough you think I don't know what am saying?

If money is enough, then why are the richest people in the world still striving to make more money?

Come over to the oil and gas sector ir maritime sector then, you'll see those earning way more than that...
Entry level jobs in Shell, Chevron or Total make abt 5m monthly in salary and allowances as a field engineer. In Local oild companies, you can be sure of about 2m as entry level of you have to be on the rig...

In the drilling sector, we have those we call Directional Drillers... For everyday they spend on the rig, the least of them is paid 300k to 500k daily. While the top ones can earn up to a thousand dollars daily.

Guess what, it takes at least 1 month to finish drilling a oil well... Some get to drill like 7 to 10 months in a year. Do the maths!!!

For field Engineers who we call LWD and MWD engineers, they make between 80k to 350k daily depending on their level and they spend a month on the rig before been crew changed.

Schlumberger is recruiting... Try to apply there and trust me, your salary can't be less than 1.7m for entry level. So, imagine those that have 10years experience in such field.
Entry level earns 5M per month? Blantant lie. This is not true sir.

Maybe in a place like Ilorin or Osun or Kebbi. If you try am for Lagos, Abuja or Portharcourt, you'd be swimming in poverty!

Telling you from experience

Don't argue what you don't know.

How much do you think entry level in NLNG, Chevron, Exxonmobil, or Totalenergies earn? Note, I said entry level o.

Shut up and stop misinforming people. I work at total and no on or off shore entry level pays 5m monthly after tax.
For a field engineer, add consolidated salary, engineer's bonus, allowances....it might get up to that, depending also on how many days the person stays in a location.

But offshore gets more allowances than onshore.

People earn 10k usd monthly, others earns 5m.monthly. a salary of BTW 1 m to 3m is normal in Abuja if you work with the development sector. The WHO, UNs, INGOs, NGOs Foundations etc. Some people need to leave their states and locations and go where the money is. Some people will never japa because they are already earning better than those living abroad. Follow these international companies career pages. There are jobs just knowing how to position for them is the main thing. Have the right training, exposure and experience. It's not about connections.
Re: What Would You Consider A Good Salary. by Uzobejeme: 1:12am On Feb 03, 2025
You are correct. He doesnt work in total.
People earns 500k - 2000usd a day depending on theirlevel. It doewng matter if they work onshore. Oil workers earn well even the illiterate welders and drillers.

For a field engineer, add consolidated salary, engineer's bonus, allowances....it might get up to that, depending also on how many days the person stays in a location.

When I was earning 100k, I was praying to get a job of like 250k that I won't lack anything again.. now I am earning almost x 20 of that amount and I still get broke sometimes.

So given the economic situation in the country, what amount would you consider to be a good salary?
₦700,000 and above.

Anything lower than that is poverty.

Salary slavery depends on the employee . It depends on what you want for your self.

For instance some people in this country still earn up to N5m every blessed months but they still see it as nothing., that's why most of them decided to japa for further greener pastures.

Basically Human being are always insatiable , until we leave this world
You are talking about “some people”.

The question is asking you to say your own mind.

So, since N5m is very small for you (if we consider that you're part of the “some peopl” you talked about), what then do you consider “Good Salary”.??

Salary is not based on economy, Salary is based on level of experience and skill. For me, it would be 350k - N500k angry
That is if you also have free transport or you drive a very small distance to work.
Only fuel and vehicle maintenance don carry 300k or more a month. Meanwhile, food costs more than these things.

I get your point, but you can never drill a well in Nigeria in a month. Most good wells with low to moderate NPT and efficient rigs use 3 months on a good scale and can be as high as even close to a year if it's a problematic well.

Maybe in the US where they drill shallow wells you might be able to finish in a month, but never in Nigeria.

I don't know too much about the Salary, but i Know you are close if not right
