It is simply about the unbelievably and seemingly incurable ignorance of a supposed graduate. A graduate from your own school can ask such so don't bring his institution into the discussion.

Simple answer... Yes and my example will be with UK universities

The standards of many UK universities have dropped and they'll take you as long as you can pay the fees especially London SouthBank University which you may as well call LASU London campus and University of Greenwich. With a well-written Statement of Purpose, they may over look your grades or with work experience in the field of study you want to embark on, you could get admission into better universities.

... Or you could just go to Houdegbe North America University in Benin Republic... All na abroad

After studying abroad, do you plan to come back to 9ja? If yes, to what JOB? If no then it does not matter what you graduated with, as long as the school issues you an i-20 or similar documentation then you're good to go for the visa interview!

YES of course! Just so you're aware, Western schools don't really have much trust in Nigeria's educational system hence the reason they give alternative qualification opportunities (Essay writing and several other exams).

Any fool could as well have graduated with a 1st class in Nigeria... Just have the money to settle your lecturers and professors.

If you like have 3rd class, you will get admitted schooling abroad, just have the funds, bur the difference there is that, when it comes to scholarships and the likes, first class holders have the upper hand and chance to be given.

Yes you can, mostly in UK only that it will be tough for you to get fully founded scholarships with the grades. However their is still hope for you.

Yes you can. Education abroad is not the same way we discriminate here. As long as you are able to convert and follow the structure of that country, you are good. Don't let your life be defined by the Nigerian construct of class. I salute all those who graduated with a 1st class but in the real world, no one will remember your class. We want to see what you can do. Even if you graduate with a pass abroad, don't let it define you. There's more to life than academic grades.

5 types of intelligence - academic is just one of them. I will not tell you not to study well but don't confine yourself to academics alone. Nigerians think only when you speak and write English well that you are intelligent. Then they see a Chinese and they are wondering how he can build bridges but they have forgotten English is just a language, a means of expression. It doesn't mean he who speaks Igbo, Hausa or Yoruba language is dumb and will not do well in life.

Enough preaching from me. sorry for diverting from your topic but I wrote this because it has held back many people from progressing home and abroad. They think what is from abroad is the best and what they have at home is the worst

Your last name is Obaseki. You will be fine. Just write a nice essay claiming you do not want to rely on the glory of the former Governor, and plan to make a path towards making the world a better place. You can state the challenges that made you graduate with a 2.2. It is not a disqualifying factor in some colleges and Universities, but the very difficult ones to get into, even 2.1 would not save you.
