President Bola Tinubu on Monday chaired the first Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting of 2025 at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, News360 Nigeria reports.

The meeting commenced after Tinubu swore in eight new Permanent Secretaries, 21 members of the Revenue Allocation, Mobilisation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), a member of the Federal Character Commission (FCC), and another for the National Population Commission (NPC).

Present at the meeting were Vice President Kashim Shettima, National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu, Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, and several ministers.

New Permanent Secretaries

The newly sworn-in Permanent Secretaries include:

Dr. Onwusoro Maduka Igenelandu (Abia)

Mr. Random Philip Ebiogeh (Bayelsa)

Anuma Nlia (Ebonyi)

Ogbodo Nnam (Enugu)

Kalba Usman (Gombe)

Usman Aminu (Kebbi)

Oyekunle Nwakuso (Rivers)

Nadungu Gagare (Kaduna)

Sworn-In RMAFC Commissioners

The new RMAFC commissioners, confirmed by the Senate last August, include:

Akpan Effiong (Akwa Ibom)

Enefe Ekene (Anambra)

Prof. Steve Ugba (Benue)

Chief Eyo Nsa (Cross River)

Aruviere Egharhevwe (Delta)

President Tinubu urged the newly appointed officials to be diligent, innovative, and committed in their duties, stressing their role in advancing the administration’s governance and development goals.

Just before the FEC meeting began, council members observed a minute of silence in honour of former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Jeremiah Useni, who passed away on January 23, 2025.

For me I prefer Tinubu's supporters suffering and dieing because of Tinubu's fumbling government policies than Peter Obi being the president of Nigeria.
