Are you comparing Nigeria music game of 2006-2009 to now? Be fr

You think the cost of entry is the same? Go and watch Keke interview on Nedu's podcast. Even Tems you think packaging no involve. Didn't she come out same time with Good Girl LA and Co?

Guy packaging matters whether you like it or not

Where is them Reekado Banks? Lil Kesh and Co today. Even international acts need packaging, tens of thousands of people dey release song everyday. If you think machine no dey wey dey push these select few artistes and keeping them relevant omo you're being naive ohh

To blow up and have sustained success in today's music game for Nigeria and beyond you have to have packaging.

Like I would say. Go and listen to Keke and D1 podcast. And that was back then. Listen to how much they spend to churn out an artiste.

Rema, Ayra there's a machine pushing them. They're good but not just successful on their own merit alone
You are just forcing this packaging yarns and I’m not buying it. 9ice had at least 3 good albums that did well and it’s not like all 3 albums were released between the 2006-2009 window u are referencing as ur talking point .

9ice fell off like a whole lot of artists who are now old takers . There’s no one single manual to blowing up and staying relevant in Nigerian music industry. Even if u have machine pushing u, once ur time is up it is up .

If it’s by packaging and having someone pushing ur work , any random artist signed by Kennis music should be at the top of the industry and others should be subservient under them .

I noticed u mentioning Asake doing well because of YBNL pushing him , do u know how many artistes the same YBNL pushed that never blow/stay relevant ? Who was pushing Kizz Daniel on the other hand ?

There so many random small boys that are blowing up today without any known popular record label pushing them sef . There’s no singular manual to commercial success in naija music industry jare

I listened to overkilling on slow beat recently , Omo Djinee really cooked with the lyrics of that song .
Whaat!

E get some songs wey you go hear and you know instinctively that the singer has reached the summit and is never gonna surpass the lyricism of that song ever.

Djinee's overkilling is one of such songs.

In my opinion, overkilling has the hardest lyrics for a non-rap naija song ever.

The best part of the song is the outro

This feels good now
I’m breaking no hearts now
This feels good now
I’m breaking no hearts now
This feels good now
Not making mothers cry now
This feels good now
Not making mothers cry now
This feels good now
Put down your guns now
This feels good now
Put down your guns my brother
This feels good now
Put down your guns now brother man
Brother man eh eh
The lyrics dope and that song was genius.

Force una. Wetin consign me whether you buy it or not. It's the truth.

9ice last good album was Tradition which came out 2009 if we want to be frank. The one after that didn't hack it

9ice fall off was premature. He's fallen off for over a decade now and packaging is definitely a factor. When it was time to evolve he didn't and the game left him behind

BlueRayDick:

SMH.

Which industry for this life get 100% kill rate. Shey na all Nestlé or Guinness product dey move? Na wa ohh

Asake wey talk say "I just blow but I know my set" You don't know what he means ba??

Who are the many random boys just blowing without backbone. Dey there dey play. Even the Kizz Daniel himself is he not with Empire?

Oya nau. I say dey there

For the levels Nice reached and his style of music, the fall-off was too hard and too early. I really don't see why Nice couldn't have continued dropping classic Yoruba songs till today, even the Niche Brymo seems to occupy Nice suppose follow am dey inside, and with a lot less baggage than Brymo should be making sweet money.

Nice's fall-off was more than just his time being up, he had a fair bit of drama come his way, and it's not everybody that can perform under such conditions.

Ayra too dey do some pangolo pattern. You can't fully enter foreign market with pangolo style.

That Tems collabo with Wizkid really opened doors for her and she maximized it

Ayra has dope vocals but Tems is just unique there's no one you can say sounds like her.

To break into that market from Naija you just have to make some tweaks
Ayra is way better than Tems and way less kpako than Tems. Ayra singing in pidgin is her choice, if she sings RnB she will still do it in the proper accent unlike Tems who doesn't know if she has fake Britico or fake Yankee accent

What gave Tems the attention is the Drake co-sign and collaborations, nothing more. Without that Drake boost, Tems is nothing

That was why I suggested that the whole marital crisis had a hand in how his career later turned out to be . He just seem to have his head elsewhere since the whole thing play out. Even tho he released more music/album after the incident , he just wasn’t himself

Oga 9ice sound became outdated. Truth is bitter like Guinness. And no I'm not saying he is a shitty ass Yoruba singer. Though him music no really penetrate East for example.

Look at Flavor. He came out and was popping around the time 9ice came out. Listen to Flavor now and tell me if there wasn't evolution to his sound

Ol boy if you're ignoring the importance of packaging for Nigeria music settings I no get anything to tell you then. There's a reason African China and Blackface no relevant and it's not for lack of talent
Even more recently, the lack of inventiveness and evolution has made Rema leave Fireboy behind.

Tems songs are largely unknown in Nigeria, this is an undeniable fact. You can attend 20 social gatherings in Nigeria and never hear her song even for once. Shocking that Tems somehow sounds more African to Americans than she does to actual Africans.

If i wasn't trying to be economical with the truth, I would say Tems is trash.

The answer u seek is in the body of the news article .

The teenager attempted to rob the elderly man with what looks like a real gun, the elderly man brings out his own gun and shoots the teenager before he could carry out the robbery or harm him.

The police will not be pursuing any prosecution against the elderly man because in the face of the law he has not been deemed to have committed any crime . Why ? Here is why :

1. As at the time of the incident the elderly man was under the impression the object in the hand of the teenager was a real gun and that the boy was willing to shoot the elderly man to dispossess him of his belongings .

2. The elderly man shooting a gun in response to the teenager pointing a gun at him in that instant is deemed to be proportional . A gun is a gun and is capable of killing a person no matter what make it is . If the gun with the teenager turns out to be a fake gun , it doesn’t change the fact that the elderly man thought the gun was real. This is because the man does not have time to be deciding whether the guy in fake or original .

3. The man shot to incapacitate his assailant ( the teenage boy) and didn’t go the extra mile of let’s say maybe smash the boy’s head after the boy was already dead on the floor . It was quite clear he (the elderly man) just wanted to get home to his family and only took out the boy who wanted to make that impossible for him.

So in summary it is self defense and not manslaughter .

He shot 5 times o
After the first shot the boy is down
As the teen tries to open the driver’s door, the
78-year-old man pulls out a .357 Magnum
pistol and fires at the boy, k!lling him, police
said.

The teenage suspect drops to the ground, with
the van rushing away as the elderly man fires
another shot at the boy on the ground, the
footage shows.
Which according to you is supposed to be manslaughter
I agree it self defense but the other day you claimed something like this is manslaughter
Even if the boy was holding knife it's still sef defense IMO

You did not read to understand my post , but to argue with me .

Go back to my post and see the point number 2 ; the force applied was proportional . The man shot the boy twice to be sure he was dead and shot the remaining 3 at the van that had the other teenagers who were obviously armed as well.

The police usually considered proportionality of force/threat to life in such circumstances before deciding whether to press charges or not. If the police decides to press charges in this case , the man will will and then for back to sue the police in a civil suit for his legal fees and compensation . That’s why the police adjudged it self defense and move on.
