Not really fuel pump, ypur injectors are clogged with dirt and dust, which might have trippled in size ,so your injectors are spraying instead of misting, confusing the ecu and making the fuel pump to loose pressure. Things to check, fuel pump fuse, efi and lastly service the injectors.if acter every symptoms persists, call me.id glady buy it as scrap for 500k.remeber its scrap im buying. No need for testing lacasa: |

Please house, kindly suggest a good OBD2 scanner I can buy for personal use on my car. Nothing too expensive. I saw some on Jumia around 20k but i don't know if they are okay to buy. |

RHARPHELLE99:"Personal use" is unspecific. If you want to scan just your check engine codes, then buy the 20k scanners. But if you also want to check transmission, abs, bcm, etc, then you need something more expensive. |

Hello guys. Please what's the correct belt number for the Honda R20 engine? Because my adjuster is shaking and it makes a lot of noise, first opinion change adjuster, the adjuster was changed when I got the car. Second opinion, change belt with reason that the current belt is too big, so it isn't tight enough. I recently got a 2170 belt but the noise started and it's annoying. |

| Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by Macmilla(m): 12:24pm On Feb 04, 2025 |
opezy:Yes, Honda suspension tends to be problematic because it wasn't designed for bad roads like ours. The suspension was designed for good handling at high speeds. Double wishbone suspension is designed for stability at high speeds. MacPherson struts in Toyota is more durable, but not very good at handling at high speeds. So yes, you will probably visit your mechanic more frequently for the suspension of Honda, but if you love driving, you will enjoy driving Honda more than Toyota. Note that Honda parts are relatively cheaper than Toyota parts, so your long term expenses of maintaining your Honda will still be same or even cheaper than Toyota. Compare the price of Toyota engines and Honda engines. Compare the price of their shocks. Compare every other part. At the end of the day, it boils down to what you want. |

Macmilla:Hello Bro. Just an update, I got the right plugs and it's all good it wasn't electrical. The plug is actually different from the normal ones. The seller said "American plugs" whatever that means. Thanks as well @jceesquare et others. |

remi4ever:I'd always maintained the issue with your car were bad spark plugs based on experience from working on those cars, but couldn't give further remote diagnosis as I don't have access to your car. Good to know you've resolved them. Cheers. |

Thanks for the response sir... "probably visit your mechanic more frequently", can this be managed with proper maintenance? or can i ask what can be done to manage the suspension problem in Honda? Macmilla: |

opezy:When I said visit mechanic more frequently, I meant visit for routine maintenance. Change your ball joint once a year or once in two years, depending on how you drive the car. If you can not get original OEM ball joints, please use tokunbo OEM, for your peace of mind. ALWAYS LISTEN TO YOUR CAR. If you hear any abnormal sound, go and get it fixed. It will not pass one bushing or another. Original shocks will last for years. Good ball joints will last years. And please don't buy a poorly maintained naija used Honda, unless you are a mechanic 😁. Nigerians HATE maintaining cars. And remember, if you want an SUV, buy an SUV. If you want a boat, buy a boat. Don't buy a car and use it as a boat. Cheers. |

Good evening everyone. Please what could be the cause of my civic vibrating/jerking when I put it in gear? It just suddenly started and even after changing the engine seat which was what the mechanic pinpointed. It still doesn’t stop. And how much would the repair cost? Like a range. |
| Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by Kaymaxi2222(m): 11:31pm On Feb 07, 2025 |
Oncanada:let them Inspect your cup wey dey inside the gear box and the bushings inside it....also there is another engine seat under the car check if your is still there is not worn too |
| Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by jceesquare(m): 12:51pm On Feb 08, 2025 |
Oncanada:Does it vibrate when in D or R or both? Do you have any drivability issues (rough shift)? Where is the RPM when it vibrates? Finally what year is the civic? |
| Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by Oncanada: 8:31am On Feb 09, 2025 |
Kaymaxi2222:Thank you. The gear was just serviced due to some leaks and the engine mount recently replaced. |
| Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by Oncanada: 8:33am On Feb 09, 2025 |
jceesquare:Im not really clear on this but when it’s on P there’s a green light blinking on D. Although the mechanic said it’s an electrical issue |
| Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by jceesquare(m): 9:03am On Feb 09, 2025 |
Oncanada:You didn't add the bolded to your initial post. Kindly run a scan on the transmission to know what's faulty. |

My Bosses, I have been trying to rectify the only issue I have been trying to fix for weeks now. My car drives and shifts fine, no check engine light. When engine is hot and I got the brakes or I'm moving slowly within the neighborhood, the rpm drops and the car vibrates like it wants to turn off. What I have done.. 1. Cleaned the throttle body and even used a temporary replacement. 2. Changed plugs. 3. Changed air filter. 4. Checked for vacuum. I don't know what else to do, initially I thought it was a vacuum in the braking system that causes it when I brake but even with the handbrake while idling it happens sometimes. There are no error codes and yes my check engine light works. Make una help me, I shift into neutral at stops to manage it for now. 2cribz: You don't know who you're answering sir. Please read my post well. My car shifts fine. No jerking or erratic shifting. Neither my engine or transmission has been worked on before neither is my wiring tampered with. I should go and get another transmission, just like that... |
