I'll soon do same. But I pray I don't. I've endured enough and everyone around me knows I have. I've done a lot for myself and nobody will label me a coward if I end my life.
Anybody can doubt or insult me after reading this comment, but no problem. I wear the shoe and I know the exact spot it pinches me. A life of hardship, pains, sorrow, agony, hunger, hate, lack.

Financial pressure is indeed terrible, but why would a student with no dependant kill himself because of it?

These things aren't ordinary.

Don't kill yourself o no matter what you're going through, either financial or health wise.

If it's health wise you can let me know how I can be of help and be considerate enough.

Such a waste of talent. My prayers goes to the aged mum whom he's has successfully killed even before her death because of his impatience. Tough times don't last but tough people do.

If there wasn't reckless spending and highest degree of corruption during he time of President Jonathan, i doubt if things would have gotten this bad the way it is. Nothing was set in place for the betterment of the common man.

Buhari tried his best and set the pace for development in the country. Tinubu by the grace of God will lead us into that promised land. He has started excellently well.

More like the hunger led to depression and depression led to suicide. I am tempted to say that the guy killed himself for nothing except the news no complete. Person get 4.5 gpa, get roomate, pay school fees, get people that can support still kill himself. How about students who don't have any of this things yet still dey pull through?

Student wey real broke don't have accomdation, some even sleep in class, while some move from hostel abi lodge to lodge, when e bag you cgpa go dey cry. He chose to died that way

Things are hard really. You'll get to a point and all you have is hopelessness. Imagine the struggle of a poor man in this country. May God sustain the rest and be a pillar of hope to them

But for no reason should a man take his own life

The thought of it is awkward. God bless every soul that needed help at this time. Amen
I'm just tired.

I am wondering too, it is much easier for a single man to cope with hardship than a married man. Maybe he was the kind of child that have been spoilt by his father before his demise. What should those children selling wires in traffic do, if you are fortunate to be in higher institution and still can't manage to push ahead for a better days.

Parents, no matter how rich you are, please train your children how to withstand the complex world we live in. Let your children know how to solve their problems by themselves from early stage in life.

Buhari that you are supporting left a debt of 77 trillion from 12 trillion despite printing 30 trillion. Under Mr kwaraption fighter, the accountant General stole 134 bullion, nnpc did not remit a dime to federation account for 5 years. Sorry ass Jokers

This story doesn't make sense one bit! With NELFUND, no student is suppose to cry hardship.
He didn't commit suicide because of hardship but because of something else. Most likely a woman
NO, HE COMMITTED SUICIDE BECAUSE OF HARDSHIP. It true that NELFUND is trying but majority of students have not started receiving the so called upkeep of 20k monthly despite application being approved since August, 2024. And can you just imagine an upkeep of such little amount in this hardship and NELFUND are not even faithful in the payment. For instance, in LASU, they just started the 20k upkeep payment January,2025, even since July 2024 loan approval.

And secondly, the institutional fees paid to school direct are yet to be paid to students school fees account while this a loan that must be paid back. Things are really hard and students are the worst hit. NELFUND should try to pay the accrued UPKEEP, do an upward review of the UPKEEP and be faithful in the payment. A lot of students are depressed because of hardship. Things are really hard to them. Just watch out for more of this bad news if nothing is done about my complain here.

Why did he give up without a fight?

As a student there are a whole lot of things he could have done to support himself in school.

Education is not about reading and passing exams, it also include thinking outside the box to solve problems.
Like what and what please can he do to support himself while schooling. Because as for me most Nigeria students are going through a lot and more of this news is loading if nothing is done about this hardship

The bolded is so true.

Parents hid alot from their children, thinking it will hurt the children's mind if those things are revealed to them. The real answer is that, when we tell the truth to kids, teenagers, young adults, they become stronger and ready for life!

I tried to ignore your post, but it was too much of a shock to think there is someone who actually thinks todays problem was GELs fault (GEJ takes part of the blame just as other presidents before him) and Buhari did well! Unbelievable!!!!!!! Buhari was a calamity on scale that can't be quantified. Our economy is completely messed up due to his corrupt tendencies. with all that you must have heard was done by Emiefele, BDCs, Tunde Sabiu, Malami, Kyari and other crop of thieves, you still think Buhari did well. You need help urgently

Its hard to be in school without financial materials to back you up! I really don't know the solution to this.
I knew this girl that was a student at our school then. She lives with are parents, cos their home is the next city after the village the school was sited. Better than us who were distance apart!

This is so sad ! Just look at what is going on in Nigeria, yet some fools are saying transformation is going on. All Nigeria needs now is a total revolution, make all these leaders feel the pain the citizens have been feeling. They should be made to loose all they have and cherish much and taken out of power by force like some other countries have done and experienced, no matter their political party affiliation, that's the only way out.. Just look at .....RIP to the guy
What you see in our economy today is actually the true state of the Nigerian economy. Behuri refused to tackle the problems head on, instead he patched it till he escaped from power. He didnt have the courage to do the right thing, to make the tough choices like the current government is doing. If they keep discipline in this manner then it can only get better. There is still widespread corruption in today's government and that is the thing that can truncate it's efforts. It is always best to be truthful in your assessment of issues rather than be emotional and irrational

God will definitely come to the aid of common man is this country. The children of our rulers are in the best universities in the world spending hundreds of millions of Dollars on them, but they allowed our prestigious home universities they themselves attended to rot away, this led to brilliants students frustrated and commiting suicides. Because these children of common man cannot coop with hardship and hunger in the land. The government will claim they lunched students loans, but apart from the fact that amount is too small and instead of paying the money to beneficiary students, they also paid it to school management account who will now delay the payment to beneficiary or due to corruption practices may not even pay it at all. What is wrong for them to pay it to each students account directly. These people forget that the school they pay it to, is also expected to pay it back, because those they failed to pay to won't pay it back.

But with that GP, he shouldn't have sent reason to do that
He could have applied for scholarship and grants and even student loans
May God and his poor mother forgive him
