You should have gotten a reply. Murray state Kentucky started giving admission since January. Well, it depends on schools. You will hear back.

I graduated with a B.Eng in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering with a CGPA of 2.97 over 5(2.97/5)

I plan on going directly from B.Eng to PHD
Now my questions are

1)During WES conversion can I merit a GP of 3.0/4
2)in terms of writing GRE what's the maximum score should I be targeting

Pls guys I need someone to advice me

because you can’t predict Wes accumulation, reasons the way they compute is different from ours.

I have done mine, and my cgp reduced alot after wes verified my transcript.
from 4.21 to 3.54

You should try using the WES free GPA calculator if you have an unofficial transcript, enter all your course credits and grades, it can give you a bit of an idea on what the GPA over 4 would be if you do the official evaluation.

From people’s experience, CGPA around 2.9-3.1 over 5 from Nigeria tend to converge around 3.0/4 for US after evaluation. I think there’s a good chance you’d meet the 3.0 requirements if you evaluate your transcript.

But Wes evaluates over 4.0 CGPA while in Nigeria, we use 5.0 so obviously Wes evaluation increased your CGPA. 4.21/5 is 84.2% and 3.54/4 is 88.5%. Do you understand now?
