I do not expect a school of this calibre to not have official channels for conducting school business. The departure of a staff should not interrupt the flow.

He must have held a very sensitive position that involves handling of money. That's probably why the school had to publicly dissociate with him so parents won't erroneously have transactions with him.

My friend complained to her proprietress about salary increment. Madam kept telling her stories upon stories. One of the biggest private school in town bought another school close to us. She approached the management for job offer, she was later invited for interview. On leaving the interview premises, madam proprietress was driving by. She stopped in shock and gave her a ride. She called her to her office the next day and approved her salary increment with extra. Proprietress knew my friends value but was not taking care of her well 🤷
