In my entire community in Imo State there is no borehole, we depend on distance running stream to get water. The last person that tried to dig borehole in the community spent over N10m and yet no water and no hope for getting it. At this stage now it will be very hard to get person who can afford to try again because of the high risk or chance of failing and losing the money. During drying season, people spend a lot of time, energy money trying to get water, water is like a rare earth material. Maybe na Libyans go understand wetin I dey write because I hear say for there, fresh water dey more costly than fuel(PMS) This is supposed to be the duty of the government, ie if we get. At home, we bought 1k gallon of water for N25k around late December, after so much management, it got finished at mid January. Less than 3 weeks a big GeePee thank of water worth N25k finished. Something 2 litters of fuel or even NEPA light will help us do if we had borehole. Some people even spend more than 25k based on distance. Some people said money na water, it's the other way round in my place. |

You mean you guys cant come together in this age and time to drill a borehole? Even small me get borehole for my house for village and an entire community cannot dig one? Una never ready to drink clean water. And don't tell me it is the responsibility of ths government. This is gross irresponsibility on the part of the leadership in your community |

EXOUSIAng:So who's responsibility is it? What's the essence of having government if the government won't supply water to community if it's hard for the community to do it? It's hard getting water there that's why, not because the people can't come together. People have been trying it for long but couldn't, the last guy that tried it spent more then N10m to N15m, even promised more money to the company if they see water but they couldn't. Nobody would want to spend more than such amount trying their luck to get water again. Government even came, during Ohakim's regime, try to dig borehole with little resources after losing election to Roches for the fear of probing. They hung thanks in every part of the community after they failed to get water, they bought water and filled the overhead tank, call the community people to come and fetch water that they are done, people rush to fetch water, they took their pictures and videos and left, over 13yrs now no drop of water from any of the boreholes. We need to try bigger company which the Imolite community can't afford. |

@AnyanwuSK, has there never been water in your community ever? You people must come together, put heads together and find a way. When there's will, there's always a way. |

Mariangeles:It's not that easy, we have tried, if someone opens borehole at N20m, then anyone will be sure of spending N20m to get borehole. So, at it stands now people are afraid of spending such huge sum to do try your luck. Like I said, someone who spent over N10m searching for water has tried. People spend a lot of energy to get little or no water. The people depend on stream that runs like little tap at far distance but length and height. People shouldn't be suffering to get water in this quarter of 21st century. At least the government should help run pipe from one neighboring community at has borehole. |

AnyanwuSK:Do a geophysical survey within the community, drill and you will surely find water. I believe there are farmlands and green leafy trees in your community which implies the presence of groundwater. Imo state is not the Sahara desert. Your writeup does not make sense to me. |
