I doubt they can achieve anything meaningful. Tinubu and APC have made a mess of this country that it will take decades to fix. Even Obi cannot work any magic here if he comes into power. The rot runs deeply.

Re: Senate Moves Against ‘japa’ Syndrome by Hemanwel(m): 1:51pm On Feb 06, 2025
The people called leaders in this country are either deliberately not proactive or are not in tune with the current realities.

When people were traveling out in droves, they didn't know people were going out of the country? Now that Bolekaja economic policies have confined Nigerians into Nigeria, they are now talking about making moves to curb japa.

How many people dey japa now? How many people get money to japa now? The FG government of Nigeria is still living in 2015
Re: Senate Moves Against ‘japa’ Syndrome by Shawarmagirl: 1:51pm On Feb 06, 2025
Two things can only bring me back to Nigeria no matter what.

1. Family
2. Family and loved ones.

I rather die here in UK than return to Nigeria to stay

They should increase international passport fees to 10 million Naira. It’s that simple!
They should start by bringing back their children to continue schooling or working in Nigeria. They should patronise Nigerian healthcare system instead of flying abroad for ordinary headache. Charity begins at home.

Common, let's use our head. We can't allow ourselves to be played and fooled by these political elites.
Re: Senate Moves Against ‘japa’ Syndrome by nnamdi640: 1:53pm On Feb 06, 2025
They should lead by example, you can't be stopping people but won't stop your own children from doing the same
Re: Senate Moves Against ‘japa’ Syndrome by StPete: 1:55pm On Feb 06, 2025

Nigeria should learn from the Philippines how they optimise their Japa.

Re: Senate Moves Against ‘japa’ Syndrome by Sijo01(f): 1:59pm On Feb 06, 2025
They should start by repatriating their wards and family members back to Nigeria. It's called leading by examples. Bunch of hypocrites.

I'm not sure this woman did her homework well before referencing India, the country hold a record as one of the top countries with the highest number of people japaing even as at today...
Don't mind the unexposed people making laws for people who know more than they do.

For every Nigerian abroad, there are at least 10 Indians in that same country

Hypocrites!

Anyone of you whose child/children presently live/school abroad, or, whose child ever lived abroad should cover his/herself in shame.
Re: Senate Moves Against ‘japa’ Syndrome by mightycrowns44: 2:11pm On Feb 06, 2025
All the good things of life are exclusively reserved for them and their family members.

Na God go punish them ..... Their children are having better lives outside Nigeria yet they want to block others from seeking same better life.
