I saw first hand the way the ND youths were been pampered by GEJ during his time.

My friend was chief protocol for the ICT empowerment initiative for ND boys at New horizon technologies in Lagos......this guys get moved into Lagos for training for several weeks with feeding twice a day,accomodation in hotels,allowances, transportation etc.

These boys were practically living large on the govt and that program was majorly a failure because most of them were only in on it for the money and not the acquisition of skills it was originally meant for.......my guy sef chop money that year.

If the oil that is being used to sustain this "failed experiment" was domiciled in your region, do you think we would still have a country called Nigeria? Go to Dubai and see how their citizens are being pampered!

This is a wrong policy and may end up be corrupt.

People should not be paid for doing nothing. They should be paid for productivity.

NDDC is better off establishing cottage industries and providing credit to SME, then gathering random youths to pay 50k monthly.

Is the NDDC encouraging laziness.

This is so wrong from a development strategic point.

Let's say we have 9 Niger Delta states, that's like 1,120 youths per state.

Can't 1 billion Naira (2 months total pay) be ised to train and establish 1,120 youths in Agriculture or any other trade per month for each of the 9 states such that by the end of the year the entire 10,000 youths will be self employed and won't need to depend on 50k per month that they can finish spending in 1 hour of market runs.

As a matter of fact, if done as elucidated above, those 10,000 youths would have become employers of labour between now and the end of the year, and even going forward.

That one even better.
When NDDC was still giving them topnotch training in welding and other skills, they sell off the expensive equipments given to them immediately without thinking for a moment.

But, of course, I expects fools with no knowledge to yarn dust against my comment.

Dubai govt welfare covers all the citizens of the country regardless of region.....not every part of the UAE has oil......but if we are to use Ur warped logic,only youths from a certain region should enjoy all the govt support to the detriment of others.

Who are the niger Delta youths to benefit from it? I registered and have not gotten any information whether I was shortlisted or not neither have I heard of anyone around who have been shortlisted. Definitely the beneficiaries will be the politicians as usual

I see nothing

I've never benefitted anything from any government asides corporate benefits like good roads. Went through school without bursary, even SIWES allowance Dem chop am. Npower no reach me. All these schemes no one reach me, even scholarships. Tomorrow when I start to criticize the government someone will now say ask what you can do for your country not what your country can do for you. Make God help the person that day sha.

NDDC are really trying, I think these is a new development. I have 2 guys earning 80k monthly and 5k allowance weekly from NDDC and they're also learning a skill at the process
