Only tiny fraction of people can “chop them and run” . For you to “chop them and run” , you must have a steady source of income that would not make you look back and crave for that your winnings over and over again .

If u are someone whose steady monthly income exceeds N500k , it will be quite easy for you to chop one time N1m, N2m and rest . But if the u Dey hardly see 100k and u chop one time N2m , u will always think there’s more from where that N2m came from and before I know it ; u will increase ur staking power while chasing the bag.

Soon addiction will set in and u may end up losing more than u’ve won without knowing sef .
So you think say person wey see 2m fit no use am go carry fairly korope begin use am see front? Not all gamblers are addicts, some gamble purposefully while some have taken it up as lifestyle (addiction).

Can you even hear yourself? This is quiet daft sorry to say. Are you currently living and working in your state of origin?
Being proud of where you come from is one thing, but moving to another country and then demanding it change to resemble your homeland is both hypocritical and entitled. If you truly value your original culture so much that you want to replicate it elsewhere, why leave in the first place? Naturalization isn’t just about a passport, it’s about respecting and integrating into the country you chose to call home. Loyalty should be to the nation that welcomed you, not just the one you left behind.
This is the problem with overly emotional people smh.

Stop trying to be sleek. The keyword there is COLLEAGUE. An ex footballer who was purely trash has no right to HARSHLY criticize another player who was 10 times the player he was.
Who is trying to be sleek? You have come again with your ridiculous takes.

An ex-footballer that professional clubs were willing to buy for millions of pounds multiple times and pay millions of dollars to as salary can’t criticise or analyse football, but you that couldn’t make Green House football team during inter-house sports competition at Iganmode Grammar School can criticise players and stalk their supporters all over Nairaland? 🤣🤣🤣
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Kimbeast: 9:23am On Feb 07, 2025
swiz123:
How does that relate? Why are you guys missing the keyword COLLEAGUE?? !! I can criticise accept criticism from someone from a different profession who doesn't understand how difficult my job is but believes I should be better because I am a professional. What I can't accept is if a colleague whom I am much more better than criticises me HARSHLY in public with a large audience.

For example 1 : Jackson has got to realize that a club like Chelsea is very demanding and he's got to improve his standard if not, he risks getting sold. He should work harder, take his chances and he will be celebrated in no time.

Example 2 : Chelsea surprised me by going for a striker like Jackson who wasn't even the main striker at Villarreal. He was never that good, he never scored enough goals, he was never that guy. I expect Chelsea to right their wrong and go for another striker who fits their profile and sell off Jackson.

You guys can continue pretending like you don't understand what Baggio means and what we have been saying all along.
You have actually not said anything and Baggio words can also be directed at you. If Baggio doesn't rate the words and criticism of ex footballers then you think he gives a damn about a nobody that has never played football professionally? He bloody hell doesn't. Infact he will look at the individual like a retard.

People sell their properties and sometimes beg others for money inorder to gamble, Once you are addicted It's over!
True.. I have a friend who was always staking on games but his stakes were largely below 2k. I thought he wasn't just trying his luck and paid it no mind. His brother wey Japa leave big shop for am and he now increased his staking. He told me about the 450k he won and I asked him how much did he stake, he said 50k.

I know that shop will be gone in no time.

BlueRayDick:
One thing people don’t know is that Bookies are similar to Insurance companies in the sense that an insurance company will take few thousands of Naira as premium to insure ur assets worth millions of Naira. If ap loss to that asset occurs , they will pay u that millions worth of ur properties . Bookies will take small money from u promising to pay u multiples of it if the events u get on happens as u predicted .

Now Insurers are protected from failure in a way because they get to transfer some of those risk they insure to reinsurers and government also mandates them to keep some reserves for contingencies . Bookies on the other hand have no such shock absorbers and if too many people win too many bets they can close shop in an instant without even government bailing them out.

Where I’m going is the fact that new bookies keep springing up everyday is an evidence that it is a very lucrative business . Punters are not winning generally and that is why they can keep paying the few people who win paltry sums from the billions of deposits they get from their customers .

Like u rightly posited , banks must have seen that if he that prides himself as a very skillful punter could be losing as much as he does ; then certainly others will have worse . So he’s most likely just trying to get his own slice of the cake by going to the other side of the street .
There are over 50 bookies in the country, more still on the way

Because many never see am. A large percentage of gamblers whose monthly salary is below 100k will invest in something else if they ever win 2m in a single bet.

[color=royalblue]I didn't expect Swiz to even jump on that Baggio's statement, because it makes his own case worse.

Baggio feels a worse professional player doesn't have the right to criticize.

Then imagine me or Swiz sitting near Baggio, and criticizing grin grin

It wasn't meant as an insult but just cruise for pretending to not see something obvious.

You and I know that Baggio wasn't referring to pundits who analyze and constructively criticise players. I mean, you clearly saw him use the word condemn.

If we sat beside him criticising a Chelsea player, he will see us as passionate fans who believes our team deserves better. But we are never going to sit beside baggio and our unprofessional criticism will never meet a large audience so what's your point?

No, I don’t actually.

I’m just being a realist who knows that most people will spend such “awoof” money to satisfy their innate fantasies . If u go back and read one of my posts u will see where I talked about only “tiny fraction “ of gamblers being able to utilize their winnings well .

Harshness is subjective. Constructive criticism is subjective.

Some of the greatest football minds and coaches were average and in some cases below average players. Some of the greatest players were average or below average coaches.

When someone is analysing or criticising a player what matters is that it is objective, accurate, and free of agenda. Whether the person can’t trap the ball or he/she can dribble the entire Oshodi should not come into it.
