Fulani Community Petitions Tinubu, Seeks Release Of Detained Miyett Allah Leader by TimeManager(op): 8:03am On Feb 08, 2025
The Fulani community in Nigeria has formally appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene in the detention of their leader, Alhaji Abdullahi Bello Bodejo, who is currently in the custody of the Department of State Services, DSS.

In an open letter signed by Mohammed Tasiu Suleiman, the Publicity Secretary of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, the community expressed concern over what they described as the “illegal and unconstitutional” detention of Bodejo, who serves as the National President of the Fulani socio-cultural group.

According to the letter, Bodejo was initially arrested on December 9, 2024, by personnel of the Nigerian Army’s 177 Battalion in Keffi, Nasarawa State, before being transferred to the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) and subsequently to the DSS.

The community stated that despite previous detentions, no formal charges had been brought against him.

A ruling by Justice Mohammed Zubairu of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court on December 30, 2024, had declared Bodejo’s detention illegal and ordered his immediate release.

However, the Fulani leaders claim that he was re-arrested on December 31, 2024, and has remained in detention since, in violation of the court’s decision.

The letter pointed out Bodejo’s role in mobilizing support for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) during the 2023 elections, questioning why a key supporter of the government was being treated in such a manner.

It also raised concerns about his deteriorating health, noting that he had previously been hospitalized abroad and required urgent medical attention.

The Fulani community urged President Tinubu to use his authority to ensure Bodejo’s immediate and unconditional release, citing the need to uphold the rule of law and constitutional democracy.

The letter further referenced the recent arrest of persons allegedly involved in a violent incident against a retired general and the seizure of their cattle by the military, questioning why Bodejo was being implicated despite his reputation as a peace advocate and philanthropist.

The Miyetti Allah group reaffirmed its support for Tinubu’s administration but warned that the continued detention of their leader could lead to growing discontent within the Fulani community.

They expressed optimism that the establishment of the new Ministry of Livestock Development would address their concerns and called on the president to take swift action to resolve the matter.

“We are hopeful that the establishment and creation of the Ministry of Livestock Development will bring positive change.

“The entire Fulani community in Nigeria has confidence in your Renewed Hope Agenda.
“Thank you for your attention to this matter,” the statement added.

Miyetti Allah is a TERRORIST organisation.

Their members are ALL OVER the country killing, kidnapping, maiming, raping and razing everywhere they go.

The fact that they have NOT been proscribed is a FAILURE of the FG.

Arresting their leader should be the first step. He should be EXECUTED..

And every member of that terrorist group should be ARRESTED.

Is this why they've been murdering people in Ebonyi and Delta?

Their leader must not be released. He must rot in detention.

What will Igbos do if this is the case?

I'm sure it's Buhari who detained their leaders but they feel they can intimidate Tinubu to release him to come out and start talking nonsense again....

Btw, why are they not telling us his crimes and connection with terrorists?
