Odunayaw:Generally it is much more costly and difficult to provide fire support than to carry out planned airstrikes. Even the Russian military struggled with this in Ukraine. The planning and response time is much shorter. Drones would have at the very least give them where to direct their fire. |

Lurker4Long:Gardiri was earlier mentioned in the circular as the form up point for the Combat teams. From the info I got, I think it is the HQ section of the patrol at Gardiri that the VBIED wanted to cut off. The timbuktu triangle is bush, badlands. In 2yrs of the Army operating there, I have not heard of a base there. It has always been long fighting patrolx |

ACP Dauda Buba Fika, Boko Haram’s Nightmare, Passes Away Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Dauda Buba Fika, a revered officer in Nigeria’s fight against Boko Haram, has passed away. He died at the National Hospital, Abuja, at about 3:30 PM on Tuesday. ACP Fika, known for his bravery and leadership, played a key role in reclaiming several towns in Yobe and Borno states from Boko Haram insurgents. As the Commander of Mopol 41, he led joint security operations that significantly weakened terrorist strongholds, including the liberation of his hometown, Fika, from their grip. In 2017, he sustained gunshot injuries during an operation in Yobe State, injuries that required prolonged medical treatment until his passing. Security officials, colleagues, and members of the public have expressed deep sorrow over his death, describing him as a fearless warrior who dedicated his life to restoring peace in Nigeria’s Northeast. His legacy in counterterrorism efforts remains a testament to his unwavering commitment to national security. RIP Copied: Zagazola

Brig Gen AS Aliyu Makes History with Daring Parachute Jump In a rare and awe-inspiring display of military courage and leadership, Brigadier General AS Aliyu etched his name in history today, successfully executing a parachute jump at Airborne Drop Zone, Jaji Military Cantonment. His daring feat is reminiscent of the historic jump by former Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen KTJ Minimah, reaffirming the time-honored tradition of leading from the front in the Nigerian Army. The significance of Gen Aliyu’s achievement extends beyond personal bravery; it underscores his unwavering commitment to excellence, discipline, and the rigorous demands of military service. Unlike many senior officers who may choose to observe from a distance, Gen Aliyu opted to experience firsthand what young soldiers and cadets endure, a decision that has resonated deeply across military circles. What makes this jump even more remarkable is that Gen Aliyu was not alone in his feat. he was joined by cadets from the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), many of whom were making their first parachute jumps. Their participation marks a pivotal moment in their transformation from cadets to future leaders of the Nigerian Armed Forces. For these young officers, the experience was more than just an adrenaline rush; it was a lesson in courage, resilience, and leadership by example. Seeing a senior officer willingly share in the same challenges they face serves as a powerful reminder that true leadership is about action, not just instruction. One of the cadets, speaking after the jump, expressed profound admiration for Gen Aliyu’s willingness to take part in such a physically and mentally demanding exercise. “Watching him take that leap instilled a sense of pride and confidence in all of us. It showed that our leaders are not distant commanders but true warriors who lead from the front,” the cadet remarked.

Nigerian Troops Eliminate Notorious Bandit Leader Kachalla Na Faranshi in Zamfara The troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA have have successfully neutralized a notorious bandit leader, Kachalla Na Faranshi, along with several of his fighters during an aggressive raid in the forests of Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State. Intelligence sources confirmed to Zagazola Makama on Friday that the terrorists was eliminated when they came in contact with the troops. Kachalla Na Faranshi was a high-profile bandit leader originally from Shirgi village in Maradi, Niger Republic. Before venturing into armed criminality, he and his father were cattle traders. Over time, he became deeply involved in banditry and weapons smuggling. His stronghold was located in the Dutsen Kura forest, southwest of Mashema in Zurmi Local Government Area. He was known for smuggling illicit firearms from Mali and Niger, supplying weapons to various armed groups operating in Nigeria’s northwestern forests. Na Faranshi had links with terrorist groups operating in Mali and was previously an ally of the notorious bandit leader, Bello Turji, before establishing his own criminal network. On March 23, 2024, Kachalla Na Faranshi released a video displaying sophisticated weapons and a large number of fighters, issuing threats to attack Zurmi town in Zamfara State. His group was responsible for multiple attacks, kidnappings, and arms trafficking in the region. During the recent operation in the forests of Zurmi, security forces engaged Na Faranshi and his men in a fierce gun battle, successfully eliminating him and many of his fighters. The Nigerian military have continued to intensified operations in Zamfara and neighboring states to curb banditry and ensure peace in the entire Northwestern region. Source; @Zagazola

Lurker4Long:I think Ramaphosa is playing the two sides. Rheinemtall is still producing in South Africa. Furthermore, in January 2024 Der Spiegel reported that Germany had agreed to Israel’s request to deliver 10,000 rounds of 120mm tank ammunition that is produced by Germany’s largest arms manufacturer Rheinmetall.https://aoav.org.uk/2024/who-is-arming-israel-other-global-exports-to-israel/

OkpaNsukkaisBae:We are multi-aligned (or what the South Americans call "active non-alignment), meaning we talk and trade with everybody unless - and this is the crucial part - they are under UN, not unilateral sanctions. SA arms exporters are forbidden by SA law, to sell arms to states in active conflict. Russia, Ukraine, Israel, Myanmar etc, are among the states to whom SA arms will NOT be sold. What Rheinmetall Denel Munitions is doing is selling to NATO countries to replenish their own stocks. Essentially, when Germany for example, donates 100K shells from its own stocks produced by Rheinmetall factories elsewhere, the German military orders 100K from RDM in SA to replace those. All of the materiel sourced from SA can only replenish own stocks, not to be donated to Ukraine or Israel. That's why a R1 billion order from Poland was put on hold and cancelled, after SA-made 155mm shells were seen in Ukraine. |

AskiaHarem:Don't forget Trump's the one trying to compel us to do certain things. So, in defiance of his bullying: 1) We will continue to have an independent foreign policy, because we are not dependent on his $400 million aid; 2) we will not abandon our case against Israel at the ICJ; 3) we will remain multi-aligned, with membership of both BRICS and the G20; and 4) the final arbiter of the legality of our laws is our Constitutional Court, not the global white supremacist movement spreading misinformation online. |

Army Troops Neutralize Over 50 Terrorists, Capture Tungan Fulani Hills in Zamfara The Nigerian Army Troops of Operation FANSAN have achieved a major breakthrough in a series of encounter in the ongoing military campaign against banditry and terrorism in the North West of Zamfara State. In one its Operation tagged FANSAR YAN BINDIGA, during a fierce battle, the troops neutralized over 50 terrorists and inflicted serious injuries on at least 25 others, including high-profile terror commanders loyal to Bello Turji and Sani Mai Nasara (Sani Black). Among those killed were Kachallah Sanni Bammuwa, Kachallah Auta, Audu Gajere, Kabiru Jangeru, Dan-Gajere (son of Audu Jabbi), and Bako Malaika, a notorious terrorist operating around Tungan Dan Musa. The successful assault marks the first time in years that Nigerian troops have been able to penetrate and dominate Tungan Fulani Hills, a location that had become one of the most dangerous terrorist fortresses in the Zurmi-Shinkafi axis Zagazola Makama recalled that five previous attempts by troops to access the valley had failed due to stiff terrorist resistance, resulting in casualties among troops and damage to military equipment. The area gained notoriety following a deadly ambush in 2019, when Bello Turji and Sani Black’s fighters killed a Major and 16 soldiers who were en route to rotate troops stationed in Mashema village. After that incident, the military was forced to withdraw from Mashema District, leaving the region under terrorist control. Similarly, on Aug. 30, 2024, Turji and Sani Black’s fighters launched another devastating attack on troops at Kwashebawa village, where they burned Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles and killed two soldiers. Following the historic victory, Military Defense officials have vowed to sustain the offensive under the newly declared “Operation Show No Mercy. “The mission is not just to push the terrorists out but to ensure their complete elimination. “The time for hiding is over. Bello Turji, Sani Black, and their fighters must either surrender unconditionally or face total annihilation. There will be no negotiations, no safe havens, and no escape routes,” the sources said. The recent success is also significant because Tungan Fulani Hills serves as a key route for arms smuggling from Niger Republic and Mali, as report indicated that Turji and Sani Black had been using the hilly terrain to store weapons, plan ambushes, and conduct kidnappings along major roads. By securing the area, the Nigerian military has disrupted their supply chain and cut off their escape routes to neighboring forests. Residents Urged to Support Security Operations In the wake of the Tungan Fulani Hills offensive, security forces are calling on local communities to cooperate with intelligence operatives to help track down fleeing terrorists. Military sources confirmed that troops have expanded their operations beyond Zamfara, targeting terrorist hideouts in neighboring states to prevent them from regrouping. As Operation Show No Mercy intensifies, security agencies are urging communities to report suspicious movements and avoid providing logistics or shelter to fleeing bandits. “The Nigerian Army, with support from the Air Force and other security agencies, is committed to eradicating terrorism in the North-West. The fight is far from over, but we have sent a strong message that there is no safe place for terrorists in Nigeria. “This operation will not stop until every terrorist camp is destroyed, every leader is neutralized, and every fugitive is brought to justice. The choice is clear surrender now or face total destruction,” a top military sources said. With the military’s renewed momentum, the coming weeks are expected to bring further decisive action against terrorist networks in Zamfara, Sokoto, Katsina, Kebbi, and Kaduna States. Stay tuned with Zagazola Makama for more decisive updates Video link;
