He has always been one that prefers to be behind the scene, operating without airs and with the thoroughness of a lawyer who knows the power of life and death depends on all the details he could muster to present his case before a judge, Kamorudeen Ogunlana is the new Clerk of the National Assembly.

He was named months back to succeed Sani Tambuwal whose tenure expired having attained the required age for retirement.

The choice of Kamorudeen Ogunlana AS the new CNA is an attestation to the confidence that the National Assembly Service Commission as well as its leadership under Senator Godswill Akpabio has in the new helmsman.

Indeed very few if any will fault his appointment. This is because of the fresh air it brings to the position.

For instance, the National Assembly as a lawmaking body for the first time in many years is having a thoroughbred lawyer as the CNA. What his appointment therefore offers the legislative arm of government is a mixed grill of a lawyer and an administrator, and not only an administrator but one whose administrative experience runs through the whole gamut of the legislative system as an administrator and also a lawyer.

Kamorudeen Ogunlana holds a degree in Law from Ogun State University, Ago-Iwoye and he attended the Nigerian Law School in 1989/1990, AFTER which he was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1990.

He is a member of the NBA and IBA.

Mr. Ogunlana began his career with the National Assembly Service on October 4, 1993, as a Litigation Officer II in the Legal Services Department.
