Ebonyi Sunday killings executed by community criminals, not herdsmen — Gov Nwifuru

Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has clarified that the gruesome killings on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Amagu Nkalaha in Ishielu Local Government Area were carried out by criminal elements within the community, not herdsmen as previously alleged.

Speaking after a church service at the Government House Chapel, the governor said preliminary investigations by security agencies revealed that the attacks were perpetrated by local hoodlums.

“The recent killings at Amegu Nkalaha Community were carried out by some criminal elements from within the community, not herdsmen as earlier alleged,” Governor Nwifuru stated. “This is an unfortunate situation.”

The attack last Sunday saw suspected gunmen invade three villages in the Nkalaha community, killing about 17 people and burning several houses.

Governor Nwifuru also announced the recall of four commissioners and the Executive Secretary of the State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, who were suspended in November last year.

The reinstated officials are:

Dr. Moses Ekuma (Commissioner for Health)

Hon. Chinedum Nkah (Commissioner for Water Resources)

Engr. Francis Orie (Commissioner for Housing)

Hon. Uchenna Igwe (Commissioner for Local Government)

The governor issued a stern warning to contractors handling government projects, urging them to expedite project execution or face government sanctions.

I still won't exonerate the possibility that herdsmen participated in the carnage, except the survivors who were eye witnesses are lying or can't tell a Fulani person from an Igbo person etc...but what I know for certain is that it wasn't exclusively a Fulani attack, lots of local indigenes who had scores to settle with the community and spoke Igbo with pure Ebonyi dialects also participated in the attack- they most likely even paid the herdsmen for collabo...no be Ebonyi again?

Aside from the Anambra revelations, around January 5, a violent section of Simon Ekpa terrorists operating in Orsu LGA in Imo State went on a rampage of sheer terror and butchered over 19 residents in cold blood...the modus operandi of the killings were very similar to how Fulani herdsmen kill their victims (specific use of machetes,daggers and knives to butcher the victims)...IPOB apologist in their typical fashion of quickly hopping on chaos like flies to sh*t began
drive their propaganda quickly blamed the Orsu attack on "Fulani" even when the real Orsu residents who knew the people behind the attack assertively claimed the people who attacked them came from the community, and were people that they knew very well. IPOB managed to change and dominate the narrative that herdsmen were responsible for the Orsu attack until the real animals behind the brutal slaughter were apprehended by security operatives... and your guess is as good as mine- all Orsu boys fighting under Ekpa's BLA group...their only anger and reason for the attack was because the community refused to accept them and rather invited new vigilante groups created by wealthy stakeholders from the community to protect them during the Christmas season.

That's how evil, manipulative and animalistic these people are. When IPOB are the first to break any bad news to you, just know they are the ones responsible for it and want to play reverse psychology by posturing as the victims. I'm glad so many sane minded Igbos have finally woken up to their deceitful ways.

Yes Fulani herdsmen have killed farmers in rural communities in the SE just as they are doing across the nation, but IPOB elements especially the ones under Simon Ekpa have killed, kidnapped and even sold body parts of thousands of Igbos across the SE...infact this new security enforcement by Soludo has finally exposed a lot of truths in Anambra...80% of crimes in Igboland are committed by IGBOS, and this criminal elements unfortunately have ruined the true ideology of freedom fighting IPOB was initially created for...Nnamdi Kanu played into the hands of those who didn't mean well for him and used his incarceration to hijack the organization for selfish reasons.
