From what my friend told me. He said Benue state is 💯 a Christian state. The few practicing Islam were doing it for monetry purpose. I have been there so many times, from my little assessment, I think it's true that the state is a Christian state.

The governor didn't cross any line.
There are only two recognized state religions in Nigeria - Christianity and Islam.
Benue is a Christian state.
That doesn't mean that non-christians aren't allowed their rights in the state, unlike Islamic states where non Muslims are persecuted.

And so? Nigeria as a nation belongs to an Islamic organization OIC or whatever it's called. Some states have Sharia laws despite having indigenous Christians.

This is not up to a quarter of what kano state and other similar states are doing in Nigeria. Like denying people of eaten in public during Ramadan and destroying people's business in the name of sharia. Are there no Christians in the state and traditionalist?

Sometimes, insisting that the right thing be done is seen as wickedness by corrupted individuals. Many people try to use religion to blackmail others who do not share their own view.

The security challenge in Benue and plateau as well as north east are sponsored. wait till trump effect start hitting the funders of terrorism and insecurities in Africa. The food basket is going to rise again.
