This type of news don’t interest Nigerians. And when I mentioned in a post where one politician in Ekiti was in the news for distributing 500 Jamb forms and I commented on another sensible comment of a Nairalander to support the position that Nigerians are gullible and the most senseless of Gods creatures, and one nonentity was tackling his father. I will wait for two days to see whether this news will go viral. I’m 10000% sure , it will not , but if it’s the news concerning unclothedness how Iyabo Ojo or Tuface are fighting Annie , all of them will start sharing and making stupid comments. But where their legacy is being plundered right in their own eyes and the news media is talking about it , they won’t make contributions. How will the country not continue to wreck? How will some idiots declared they used 700 million naira to set up a Wordpress website or probably hardcoded website and we are hearing the site is no longer live. From the 700 million , the can buy domain and hosting that will expired in 2090 on namecheap. So how come ? Nigerians don’t ask questions. It’s such a pity I’m pushed into this part of the world by my creator. |

So Fayemi started talking against the government few days ago and went as far as calling for an apology against Jonathan, and all of a sudden corrupt practices under his regime as the Minister of Mines are now in the open!? That's how the bulaabaas fight kwaraption in Naijeiriya |

Lol... It's a collective effort bro, but if others feel it's fine for some minority set of people leaving large at the expense of the majority,.then it's fine that way, as everyone will suffer for it..👌.as for your question (watin I go do), I'll be back 2 naija only when the statement you quoted as "watin I go go".. rephrase to "watin we go do"..then the country can have a solution..so if you are happy with with what is going on then fine..enjoy ..😂😂😀 funsho75: |

I have almost firsthand info about this project. Firstly, it's not just a website as many are saying. It's a data-driven web application Secondly, indeed the government spent a lot of money on the project. They procured servers, ESRI enterprise license and even hired German developers. But the project failed because our government didn't use our local talent. That 700m is small money to those German companies. But if you spend 300m on a team of naija Devs, ọmọ they'll write code till thy Kingdom come. And they'll even be easier to monitor. For example, few months ago, the ministry contacted the German contractors to fix some issues in the portal and they asked for 20k USD. That's like 32M. A naija dev will do it easily and competently for 5m. Also, the money spent on the ESRI license is too much. Developing countries round the world are using open source technologies. They only use proprietary software when necessary. When you use opensource technology, you're saving money, contributing to human knowledge, building your local talent. But when you use proprietary software, you're just contributed to one silicon valley CEO's private yatch. |

erniok:It wasn't well thought out. The 700million can serve as a 3-year pilot phase. The money is worth it, but it wasn't well planned and executed It shouldn't be one of those tenured government projects– it should be institutionalised |

beardedboy:They lied to you bro. Our political rulers are harden criminals. You may be surprised to know that the proprietary software you mentioned is a package deliberately set up to execute corruption plans between them and the so called German company. Yes. Don’t trust companies. It’s where the highest level of monetary transaction happens same as where the highest level of corrupt practices occur. Most of our political rulers are pro internet fraudsters. It’s that recognition amongst their cronies that brought most of them to where they are. They operate at a very high frequency. They know if they hired a local developer they won’t be able to get much and high chances their secret will come in open in no time. In the world of fraud practice, advanced fraudsters don’t joke with transactions that support offshore locations , shell companies and many more entities designed to veil their corrupt operations. You should ask yourself the question again ? Why didn’t they hire Nigerian developers? Do you think they were not aware there are expert Nigerian developers ? Or do you think logically, the service an expert Nigerian developer would offer will not surpass what the German developers would offer the nation owning to the crop of software engineers with ingenuous technology innovation that had sprung up from Nigeria in recent years ? Brother , think about it again. Do you think the thieves were not aware ? They are fraudsters bro. Open your eyes. |

MzeeMachiavelli:" Na wrong information scatter your head" :- Femi Kuti. Beyond the religious books & western mass media,, Nigerians do not seek for other sources of truth. They ( we) have mostly not been encouraged to use their minds independently, to access the happenings in the world, and understand it in its different layers. |

drehdinho:I have no doubt that they looted a lot. But I know for sure that they bought the license. The main problem here I believe is padi-padi hiring. Instead of hiring a competent expert they just pick their election/party crew member that's most familiar with the project and put him incharge. I've consulted on many government projects and can categorically tell you that the project manager from the government side is almost always a clueless person. So, the problem is in two stages: 1. Looting lots of the project funds. 2. Kangaroo in-house hiring. |

MyExpression:700m is over $500K. Soo you mean you van justify 500K dollars for a website that cannot open, as in: -did the developers invent the programming language used? -the physical servers/cloud infrastructure, we're they invented and manufactured in Nigeria? - sey na only the website dey for its own datacenter? - what are they going to do that we have not seen before? -content cr, security, Web development, et., ehn so what is unique about the portal? - sey the site has its own dedicated fiber cable across the Atlantic? -700m naira, is this for 1yr or 10years payment?... over site that should be physically domiciled in Nigeria. Let's call a spade a spade, corruption is corruption. Thief na thief, whether he/she is a politician or IT professional. Regards HK |
