Aonkuuse:There is no urban area without schools with kids of mixed languages and then you have the problem of standardization. WIth over 500 languages, how are you going to set and maintain standards in all the languages |

/ If China, Germany, Russia, France can excel and become world powers teaching in their native languages, I don't see why Africans will continue to confuse their children with lingua franca. It is so bad that the ability to communicate in English is the only test of intelligence in Nigeria and not brain function / |

Jayhome24:Lagos state already enforced teaching with Yoruba language in public schools every Wednesday or so. In your other Yoruba states you can do the same. Ban English and use Yoruba for official communication and for classroom teaching. You must not make it a national policy to drag others backwards. We don't want to be part of your retarded behaviour and retarded thinking |

wunmi590:. I advocate for speaking all the languages you can speak anywhere and everywhere, as far as you are speaking it to someone who understands you. I will encourage my child to speak his mother tongue, pidgin and English language to anyone who can understand and speak it back anywhere and everywhere. |

miketayo:In the region u want to live or living the native language is compulsory in school, thats how its done here in abroad!!!! England kill a lot of our people by forcing their culture on us!!! The painful thing the colonialist will still ask a Nigeria for english test in order to apply for studies at a university. If you think by speaking or writing english make u a smarter person that means all England people that speak english are smart which is so hilarious. I love to hear our native languages even though most of it i dont understand. its so Beautiful unlike english man that told us, an hour but a house. does that make sense? |

Morbeta11:TOEFL, IETLS and Duolingo English language test would still be required from them if they want to study abroad, while they rather hire translators for Chinese students that don't know how to pronounce come or go. Mumu people. If you're not using your mother tongue to teach your children in school, you'll always remain underdeveloped. Check every third world countries, the use of foreign languages as a primary language of education in their schools is the common denominator. |

Prince001:If you are intelligent, you won't be comparing a country with just one language to Nigeria that has multiple language, you be confirm olodo... So if I as a Yoruba man enrolled my child in a school filled with Igbo, the child should be speaking yoruba while others speak Igbo... Please don't mention me again, you don't worth my time |

Prince001:This will only divide the country even more, it would have made sense if only we had 1 native language but we don't. Imagine studying in kogi or benue, you will be taught is a language that is not widely spoken in the country. I studied in india which this system is practiced, the north and the south are divided. They can only communicate in English. To make it worse Indians can't speak properly English making communication even worse. At the end of the day the southern Indians don't mingle with the northern Indians. |

Prince001:No division amongst them, but you can't deny there isn't a division amongst us, Nairaland is enough proof. Nobody wants to learn in another native man's language |
