If possible, I'll vote for both of them with both hands.

Any politician could have used the devilish deceitful campaign against religion. Obi can't get half of the score in last election again. Very Conny man.
He can't even get one quarter. The Obidients had damaged his image beyond repair

Yorubas dint know that they had a Adeshina when they were screaming emilokan ... ur tribe have failed...we don't want any yoruba near Abuja again...this will b the last yoruba man to rule this country....ur tribe have failed Nigerians both in character, attitude and actions
If you cry from today to eternity, your tribe can never smell that seat not to talk of seating down there.

Adeshina was a superb minister of agriculture under Jonathan and that earn him the current position he his. In terms of performance, I will rank him higher than Obi anyday. Obi is just a Conny man. If he had performed as governor, why then some anambarians condemned him. They only supported him because of Igbo presidency project as the sole Igbo on any major party ticket.
I don't even see any man from the south east getting to that place, at least not in this our generation, maybe it might be possible in another generation sha.

Mr Adesina will get far fewer votes than Mr Obi.

He doesn't have name recognition on the street.

Only educated and people on social media know him, and these are not the real voters.

He won't win a single State.
Likewise Obi because in core northern communities, they always mistakes him for Joel Obi the for Inter Milan/Super Eagle's midfielder.

No, he won't.

The current CBN has actually done a great job.

It is easy to appear to be a great CBN Governor when the economy is doing relatively well, ala Mr Soludo, and Mr Sanusi.

Neither of those 2 faced the kind of existential economic crisis that the current CBN Governor was faced with when he came into the position.

If you look back at what the country faced this time last year, and the relative stability that we are beginning to see in the economy, you will appreciate the great job that the CBN Governor has done.

4 years ago, Turkey was in a similar terrible economic situation, and they went through 4 different central bank Governors with 2 years, and till today, the Turkish currency has still not recovered.

Nigeria's CBN Governor deserves commendation.
You mean the same CBN governor who made his girlfriends directors in CBN and pay them 50M monthly salary?

To answer your question straight forward...

Peter Obi stands a better chance with the right alliances.

Adeshina is fresh and inexperienced in politics at that level. Obi already has a base he can build on.

But as for who is likely to be a better president I would pick Adeshina over Obi!
Mr Obi has Lost most of his supporters courtesy his obidients followers and his unguarded comments, many serious christians may not vote for someone who vowed to dismantle church and turn Christian vigil to night shift.
Re: 2027: Peter Obi Or Akinwumi Adesina? by Ewedegubbler: 4:34pm On Feb 11, 2025
Adesina still needs to taste power at governorship level and learn the act of wickedness and embezzlement like every other Nigerian politician.

If he manages to conquer greed and still maintain empathy then he can try his hands at the presidency

Obi was not known on the street before he contested, but he pulled crowd and almost won, so it's possible anybody can come out like that and win

Good analysis brother i will save this quote for future references
DeLaRue:
I struggle to see which opposition pairing and permutation can defeat the President.

1. Mr Atiku doesn't appear willing to step aside, yet, most Southerners and middlebelters are not ready to vote another Northerner so soon after Mr Buhari.

2) If Mr Atiku and Mr Obi decides to join forces on the same ticket, which party will they use? PDP is not certain. If they form an entirely new party, and they don't win, Mr Obi will be the biggest loser, as he will then have been in 4 different parties. That's not a good look.

3) If Mr Obi and Atiku contest separately, we'll probably end up with a result similar to the one we had in 2023.

4) There is no proof yet that the far North will vote for any ticket with Mr Obi in it, whether as President or Vice President. Mr Obi got so few votes in that part of the country in 2023 that it is difficult to see how that will change in 2027.

) If you throw Mr Adesina in the mix, and he too contests under a different party, that fractionalisation of the opposition will only favour the incumbent.

Anyway, as someone famously said, a week is a long time in politics. With 2027 still 2 years away, a lot can still change. Who knows.

you talk about base but some including Obi said structure isn't necessary. I wonder is wakawaka with Atiku recently

Nobody is in Atiku’s mind and there’s been no verifiable report anywhere that he wouldn’t want to step down his ambition for the candidate of the unified opposition especially with Obasanjo brokering the deal.

About Obi and far north votes…

The only reason Obi seemed to perform poorly in far north was because of his running mate in 2023 who was not popular with the talakawas of the north. Substitute Datti for Tambuwal with the backing of northern oligarchs who would dispatch Imams and their foot soldiers to campaign positively for Obi, and you see the sentiment change and his votes skyrocket.

Of course you know Southeast and Southsouth is Obi’s place any day, and even large part of MiddleBelt.

It will be in Atiku and north’s best interest to step down their interest for Peter Obi or Tinubu does his 8 years.
At the end of the day, the north may decide to let Tinubu finish his 8 years because another fresh southerner will definitely use the power of incumbency to spend 8 yrs , shutting the northerners out of the corridor of power for 12 yrs.

We have muslim presidemt and muslim vice now and heaven hasn't fallen, we can have Peter as president and Akinwunmi as vice, heaven will still not fall.

Bro no sweat far, what we need is just one party vs APC, and the candidate must be a southerner, no 3rd force

Tinubu won 2023 becos of divisions, fast forward to now, 50% of people that even voted Tinubu have unfollowed
Opposition should just think right nd shun selfishness

what God can't do doesn't exist remember that,,,,another party won the incumbent in Senegal even the party doesn't AV structure before dey won the same thing happened in Ghana recently so forget about the incumbent like I always said only INEC and touts can save Tinubu in 2027 election if this hardship continue like this till 2027 mark my word down

Adesina is more qualified and presidential. Obi will cut cost, no doubt. Adesina has got clout , high level education and exposure which Obi can not match. Obi will be more sincere and honest but these virtues may not necessary translate to good governance and progress for the country. Julius Nyererehuh? Marjorcahuh?. I am an obidient but whoever gat the guts to push for state police( Fulani herdsmen are ravaging my area), true fiscal federalism or regionslism will have my vote. I think that the current , hate him or like him is the that can do it. I am for PBAT!

invalid statement or a logically impossible statement from another obidense grin grin
Penguin2:
I’m not interested in arguments but if the entire country comes together against Tinubu, he will lose woefully even if Remi is made INEC chairperson.

An Igbo adage says that “if one man cooks for the community, the community will finish the food. But if the community cooks for one man, he will not finish the food.”

Or do you deify Tinubu enough to think he can finish the meal prepared for him by the entire Nigerian community?
