The Anambra State Government has sealed a shrine in Umuofor village, Okija, Ihiala Local Government Area, allegedly used by one Ekene Igboegbueze for illicit rituals aimed at supernaturally enriching individuals, ABN TV reports.

The Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Community Security, Mr. Ken Emeakayi, disclosed this while leading operatives of Operation Udo Ga-Achi to the shrine.

He explained that the government's action was prompted by multiple complaints from residents of Okija, as well as a viral online video in which Igboegbueze openly admitted to engaging in Oke Ite, Yahoo Plus, and Awele—practices that contravene Anambra State's Homeland Security Laws.

Mr. Emeakayi further revealed that, in addition to sealing the shrine, the state government had confiscated all properties acquired by the suspect through the proceeds of the alleged illegal activities. He added that all items recovered from the shrine would undergo forensic examination, and the results would determine the government's next course of action.

Speaking on the development, the Director of Operations for Agunechemba Security Outfit, Mr. Chinenye Ihenko, decried the rising influence of fraudulent native doctors and self-proclaimed pastors, stating that their activities encourage a dangerous "get-rich-quick" mentality among youths.

Yes, It's a crime if the shrine is involved in human rituals or harbouring & fortifying kidnappers & criminals. But aside these, there is not much difference between them & the activities of some religions organisations.

For the fact that he propagated the Yahoo Plus ritual is aiding and abetting fraud. We can't tell if human parts were requirements for the ritual. One of the murderous kidnappers of the lawmaker was living in a shrine in asaba. I strongly believe the Chief priest was aware of his business and gave him spiritual and moral support by fortifying him against being caught.
Any pastor that promotes fraud and kidnapping should be raided as well.

What about pastors praying for yahoo Boys, cause majority of pastors in the new churches do it

The governments across the East must collaborate with their various house of assembly to make laws to regulate religious practices. The recent shenanigans must be tactically stopped.

1. Before you are approved to work as a junior pastor in any church, you must have a masters degree from a reputable theological institution with other stringent requirements including clean character, you can't just go and interpret what you don't know in the name of calling this, calling that.
2. Before you are approved to work as a senior pastor in any church, you must have a PhD from a reputable theological institution with several years of experience and other stringent requirements.
3. Before you are approved to open a church or prayer ministry or any religious organization, you must have a PhD from a reputable theological institution with several years of experience, mentorship from a respected church owner, clean character and other stringent requirements.

4. Before you are approved to work as an assistant native doctor in any shrine, you must have a masters degree from a reputable witchcraft/traditional institution with other stringent requirements including clean character, you can't just go and do whatever you like and get away with it.
5. Before you are approved to work as a senior native doctor in any shrine, you must have a PhD from a reputable witchcraft/traditional institution with several years of experience and other stringent requirements.
6. Before you are approved to open a shrine or any traditional religious organization, you must have a PhD from a reputable witchcraft/traditional institution with several years of experience, mentorship from a respected shrine owner, clean character and other stringent requirements.

7. Before you are approved to work as an imam or Muslim cleric in any mosque you must have a masters degree from a reputable muslim theological institution with other stringent requirements including clean character, you can't just go and interpret what you don't know in the name of calling this, calling that.
8. Before you are approved to work as a senior imam/clearic in any mosque, you must have a PhD from a reputable islamic theological institution with several years of experience and other stringent requirements.
9. Before you are approved to open a mosque or any Islamic prayer ministry or any islamic religious organization, you must have a PhD from a reputable Islamic theological institution with several years of experience, mentorship from a respected mosque owner, clean character and other stringent requirements.

Existing religious institutions and preachers should be given one year to meet these requirements or close down.

Even foreign guest preachers invited to preach or foreigners who want to open any religious organization must meet these requirements with more scrutiny.

Note: I'm a born again Christian but what we have witnessed in recent years calls for check and balances in these religious  institutions.
