Pls is it possible to request for my passport from South africa embassy in Lagos? I need to travel by 16th of this month...

I've received my passport with the visitor's visa.

To the SA visa experts here, can you please check the visa attached and tell me how long this visa can be used to enter South Africa?
I see its a multiple entry visa and I must travel on or before 4th of April, 2025, and for each trip I mustnt spend more than 30 days in the country, however I don't know how long the validity is. I applied for 2 years visitors visa but I'm not sure what has been issued here.

You can travel to SA multiple times before April 4. And spend a maximum of 30 days per visit

Your visa is valid for two months from the day it was granted. In other words, it expires on 4th April, 2025.

hi everyone, I am applying for the south africa e-visa (visitors, less than 3 months, attending a conference), based in the UK (3 YEARS +), but Nigerian. Do I need a Police clearance. I've seen a couple of folks submit actual VFS paper application here without Police Clearance. Just wondering if it's mandatory for a short-stay e-visa.

Greetings guys. I am applyjng gor student visa at the Los Angelese Consulate. Can I ship my documents maybe through FedEx. I can't see the link for booking appointment.

I have sent email and called to no avail. Called DC and they said I must use the LA route. It's unnerving.

Submitted two applications for wife and I at VFS Port Harcourt on 22nd January 2025. Last update was 3 days later that applications are undergoing processing at Consulate General of South Africa in Lagos. Nothing else till now.

Hi all, I applied via VFS Abuja mid December but was asked to submit my passport last 2 weeks, which I did.
The visa was issued just after 2 days of submission. The problem is that instead of 2 years business visa, they gave me 2 months visitor's visa.

But they no longer collect passports along with the applications.
They will only ask for your passport when the visa decision has been made.

Use the current visa issued you, reapply for longer term.

This is not true please. I submitted mine and my spouse's along with our passports and three other applicants before us did the same thing. The choice is actually yours and they will let you know. At least I was told so at VFS in Port Harcourt. You will also get to sign a waiver for them to keep your passport for at least 21 days. If for any reason you ask for your passport back before expiry of the 21 days, you forfeit your application.
