NAFDAC Discovers ‘Massive Depot’ Of Expired Drugs In Aba by chopnaira(op): 3:30pm On Feb 14, 2025
The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has uncovered a major operation dealing in expired drugs in Umumeje village, Osisioma Ngwa, Abia State.

It was gathered that during the raid, officials seized large quantities of expired medications being repackaged for sale.

However, several individuals were arrested in connection with the illicit trade, but the prime suspect, believed to be the mastermind, remains at large.

SaharaReporters learnt that the facility, located near the Ariaria International Market, was being used as a hub for repackaging and revalidating expired medicines for resale.

The agency’s enforcement team raided the premises, which comprised multiple buildings filled with pharmaceutical products of dubious quality.

In a statement released on Friday, NAFDAC disclosed that the seized items included expired potassium chloride, allergy medications, immune boosters, and cholesterol treatments.

Officials also discovered sophisticated machines used to rebrand packaging and alter expiry dates, allowing the illicit operators to pass off the expired drugs as safe for consumption.

NAFDAC said, "During the raid, some individuals were arrested, but the prime suspect remains at large. Despite efforts to reach him, he showed no concern for his detained family members.

"The operation was in collaboration with security agencies, as part of the federal government’s intensified crackdown on counterfeit medicines.

NAFDAC reaffirms its commitment to eradicating the circulation of substandard and falsified drugs in Nigeria.

The agency added that it currently reviewing its laws to impose stricter penalties on individuals and organisations involved in the production and distribution of dangerous pharmaceutical products.

Some people would kill the whole country because they want to build house in the village.

Stay safe out there people. More reason why I support the death penalty being proposed by Nafdac.

Ekumi plaza was taken over by NAFDAC since Monday 2am this week.

Last year after a similar raid at cemetry market, the chairman of the market disclosed that NAFDAC released previous culprits after they paid bribe to them. Check the news for yourself, there was no prosecution.

A lawyer during a radio programme said that a NAFDAC official that was being transferred outside Abia was crying. Cos he will miss the money he will be making from bribes.
It will be difficult to tackle fake drugs cos people like Dora Akunyili barely exist in NAFDAC.

Why should NAFDAC arrest the kids of the suspect?

Where else would it have been discovered before if not in ABA or any of their 5-Landlocked States?

These people are the only Ethnicity in Nigeria that can kill their Father, Mother, Siblings & King because of Money.

Everywhere they go, they cry & shout the loudest, but they have the most skeletons in their cupboards.

This is why their Ethnicity is the “MOST EXECUTED TRIBE” in the whole Universe; because their insatiable greed & lust for Money can NEVER BE RIVALED BY ANY OTHER ETHNICITY IN THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE.

Any small thing, you go hear;

TILUMBU!

TILUMBU!

TILUMBU IS A DRUG BARON!

Whereas, every household in their region has minimum of 2 criminals on Death Row or that are Serving Jail Term for Cocaine-Trafficking.

I despise them more than anything!

This is more reason why we should not be envious of other people's wealth because the sources of many wealth are dubious and devilish.
