Zionmdde:Do we have a history of pipeline vandalism for terrorism related causes in sub Saharan africa? No Ita always been for economic gain/reason..that what I referred to as being not easy compared to the risk associated.. Moreover how many gas pipelines linking Europe have been reported vandalised due to terrorism?? |

Can someone tell me the financial benefits of this for Nigerians. Genuinely asking. |
| Re: Nigeria Signs Gas Pipeline Deal With Algeria, Niger Republic by flokii: 10:45pm On Feb 14, 2025 |
That's the Trans-Saharan gas pipeline project that will transport gas from Nigeria to Algeria where European nations can also be serviced Kudos to Niger republic for signing the deal. It's been years since the gas project was conceived, alongside OB3 and AKK gas pipeline projects. Better days ahead for Nigeria |

beejay85:Good question Till that pipeline passes through northern nigeria. People that blow up transmission lines and power stations will be looking at the pipeline in a sexy way abi. |

Zionmdde:you don't blow up a gas pipeline....oil pipeline yes.....gas no....if you try it how will you hold the gas? All you will do is set yourself and the surrounding areas on fire....... |
| Re: Nigeria Signs Gas Pipeline Deal With Algeria, Niger Republic by flokii: 10:55pm On Feb 14, 2025 |
Antichristus:Nigeria will start selling gas (which Nigeria has in abundance) to North African countries and countries in Europe. The idea is to get the gas to Algeria and then meter and sell the gas to Europe through existing gas facilities in Algeria. Nigeria would probably sign contracts and agreement with Algeria to enable her use Algeria's facilities. It's a big deal and game changer if it scales through.. Nigeria will become wealthy (in dollars) once sales of gas to Europe commences and we won't have need to flare gas again in the Niger Delta and other O&G producing areas. |

Zionmdde:Am sorry to tow this line of thought..... Not all Muslims are terrorists, but most terrorists are Muslims.. The said pipelines runs through Islamic dominated nations... Terrorists don't stand a chance where the Pipeline ends in NATO guarded Europe and it directly benefits Muslim countries from Nigeria all the way through Algeria.. Only Russia can motivate such and Russia's key ally here Niger republic already sanctioned the deal.... |
| Re: Nigeria Signs Gas Pipeline Deal With Algeria, Niger Republic by Zionmdde: 11:08pm On Feb 14, 2025 |
leokid866:Read my first comment You can blow up a gas pipeline for terrorism purpose It's for monetary gains that you can't blow up a gas pipeline The terrorists that have been blowing up power stations in the north don't do it for monetary purposes |

| Re: Nigeria Signs Gas Pipeline Deal With Algeria, Niger Republic by beejay85: 11:11pm On Feb 14, 2025 |
flokii:Surely Russia won't smile at this deal..,.so we should expect uprisings ( military coups) against weak nations erstwhile supported by Russia (just to render the deal null) but against The west( France in particular).. Niger, Burkina Faso need to be aware |

tishbite43:that has pipeline is heading to UK. Why must our gas pipeline get to Algeria and stop? It's heading to the colonial master. Tpain is a bastard |

beejay85:The Europeans need gas from Nigeria as most nations in Europe no longer want to depend solely on Russia for their gas supply. They need gas badly so they'd certainly see to the success of the gas pipeline project. I'm sure Niger republic and Burkina Faso are aware of what is at stake. |

Zionmdde:Lol do you think the current successes of our military in the north is not to prepare the ground for this? U seem unaware of the times and the era we are in... @BAT is a very vicious leader whose eye is always on the goal..once it brings economically beneficial results. Anyone standing in D way of progress of the north...in extension Nigeria will likely go. At least till 2027...the next election |

beejay85:Don't stress much with that guy.. serious ground work is going on in the North regarding gas pipeline security for Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) and the Trans Saharan gas pipelines.. heard from the horse's mouth and the person was Commander operation lafiya dole. The Military and Security services are all involved with 24/7 surveillance, any boko wey go near, na sorry. |

femisplash:What exactly is good about this news? who is funding the project? ... what are we putting into it ? ...what are the investors putting into it? ... what are we putting into it? ...what are they getting out of it? ..what are we getting out of it? ...bragging rights? ...to say we are by far the biggest exporter of gas in Africa?..the Giant of Africa? I wish you can make references to back support what you're saying. Any MoU the FG signs ...is to make Nigeria go deeper into the gutter. Ask any Nigerian what democracy has done for them or the country ...the responses wouldn't be positive. Ask someone from Burkina Faso what their young military leader has done for them and their country.... it's a different story. Our analog stuck in the past politicians need to go ... by any means necessary...or we will be continue building castles in the air |

Antichristus:Nigeria benefits economically and environmentally. For every 1.5m barrel of crude oil produced daily, several cubic feet of gas is being emitted which before now is beings harnessed for local use WHILE EXCESS is being flaired/ burnt 🔥 causing pollution and release of harzardous compounds.. This project will bring more dollars to our purse and also keep our environment fairly cleaner than what we used to have |

Have we ever had a president that separated petroleum and gas and gave them different ministers? This is the benefit of experience. The president has oil and gas background and not buying and selling background ![]() |

Antichristus:Don't mind them, it doesn't have any benefit in real life scenario. The project has been on ground since Buhari era. At the inception of AKK gas pipeline project, they said the pipeline would be extended to carry gas to Europe to provide a cheap alternative to gas supply to Europe by Russia. The rate of return on Investment, cost benefit analysis and payback period of any investment on the trans Sahara gas pipeline is nothing. Libya and North Africa countries with Gas are in best position to transport gas to Europe. Otherwise, let European Energy companies finance the gas pipeline project or let china finance the project while the only commitment from Nigeria would only be to sell gas . |

The West Africa Gas Pipeline Company manages the 678 kilometers pipeline from Nigeria to Takoradi. I don't know about the profitability now. They should allow investors manage the North Africa gas pipeline project and put the headquarters in Niger Republic or Algeria if it is a good investment. This is better than subjecting Nigeria to loans to finance the project. |
