There are licensed pharmacies in Lagos . And they don't sell fake drugs . Because if they do, and are caught . They will lose their licenses.....
That's why I only buy drugs from them. It might be a bit on the high side . But it is okay with me.
Aside from drugs, I have stopped buying certain consumables anyhow. E g soft drinks , bottle water , milk , etc anyhow.

A very big lie from the pit of hell. All the drugs they are taken are foreign drugs without NAFDAC number. All the UK medications, USA , SPAIN ,TURKEY ,INDIA,NETHERLANDS are been branded as fake because they refused to register them with NAFDAC. even all the BECHAM and COMPANIES medication that just left this country now are been taken and branded fake because they are no longer in Nigeria.Can you Imagine they are taken PANADOL because they left . Nigerian is a place where u can register fake drugs with NAFDAC while original foreign drugs that refused to register are been branded fake. Pls don't mind them

Nafdac is mostly impounding some foreign drugs with no nafdac number. That doesn't mean that any drug without nafdac number is fake. Most of the special drugs that are meant for special cases are mostly without nafdac number because they are not every day market drugs. They process of going for nafdac number for such drugs that is not every day sell drugs will inflate the price of this so drugs. Nafdac terming it fake because they were not having number is the highest level of deceit.

But there is some truth in what he said. Some medications that do not have alternatives and are not produced in Nigeria could be misconstrued as fake. The reason they come in without approval is because there is very marginal incentive in obtaining NAFDAC number for those. Sellers do not want to go through that expensive process. In addition, the original manufacturer might not have interest in Nigeria market and is too occupied to care about about foreign distributorship. Mostly they originate from Western Countries.
All these do not negate the fact that people still need those type of medications in Nigeria.
Typical, what small business people do is that get those medications through a third party abroad, and import them across to Nigeria. It not does not make the medications fake, just that there is no NAFDAC number on them. But doing so is a valuation of Nigeria law. NAFDAC has every right to impound the medications. But they never do at the port of entry. So the medications end up in the market.
As a warning, there are a lot that are fake without NAFDAC numbers. Mostly, those are from Asian countries, India, China, Pakistan.
