This is not true please. I submitted mine and my spouse's along with our passports and three other applicants before us did the same thing. The choice is actually yours and they will let you know. At least I was told so at VFS in Port Harcourt. You will also get to sign a waiver for them to keep your passport for at least 21 days. If for any reason you ask for your passport back before expiry of the 21 days, you forfeit your application.

I submitted my application via VFS Abuja office in December, they told me to keep my passport, It will be requested via email if my visa is approved.
I got an email asking for my passport 2 weeks ago, i sent it via DHL(because I've already left the country). I got it back this week with my visa.

Congratulations 🎊 👏...but i my passport was submitted along other documents at VFS Office in Lagos..since January 16, still date, no update from them

Yes, I applied for Visitor Research Visa going for postdoc since 20th December, 2024. No feedback since-almost 2 months. I received an SMS on 31st January that my yellow fellow wasn't registered and I should provide a registered copy. Which I did almost Immediately
Kindly advise.

I got the SMS from consulate with email to send the registered yellow fever card. I got the message on Friday and I sent to the attached email on Monday's morning

I was informed by a VFS staff here in Port Harcourt that they had a major server downtime in Lagos the entire past week but it has now been rectified. The downtime was the reason for the hold up. He asked me to expect updates from this week.
