Oga there is a lot you don’t know. I am talking about same product, same brand and exactly same look. Not generics. The address on the container is often wiped and restamped. It is a very marginal business that relies on volume.
If you wipe away address on any product that's criminal, whats stopping such person from wiping away expiring date ,if the profit is marginal is it a must you must do that business?stop defending criminality especially when lives are invited abeg .can you even hear yourself?

I am not here to discuss the criminality of the act. I am not here to even address the morality of it. Those would be points for different discussion.
The purpose of my posts is mainly exposition. In other words, to let people know what is happening and for them to make the moral judgment themselves.
I have not dog in the fight.
If I may ask, “hear myself” what? For shading light on these obscured activities and bringing more awareness to it?

But there is some truth in what he said. Some medications that do not have alternatives and are not produced in Nigeria could be misconstrued as fake. The reason they come in without approval is because there is very marginal incentive in obtaining NAFDAC number for those. Sellers do not want to go through that expensive process. In addition, the original manufacturer might not have interest in Nigeria market and is too occupied to care about about foreign distributorship. Mostly they originate from Western Countries.
All these do not negate the fact that people still need those type of medications in Nigeria.
Typical, what small business people do is that get those medications through a third party abroad, and import them across to Nigeria. It not does not make the medications fake, just that there is no NAFDAC number on them. But doing so is a valuation of Nigeria law. NAFDAC has every right to impound the medications. But they never do at the port of entry. So the medications end up in the market.
As a warning, there are a lot that are fake without NAFDAC numbers. Mostly, those are from Asian countries, India, China, Pakistan.
Its better to keep your mouth shut sometimes, we are talking apples your talking baseball. What has changing expiry date have to do with nafdac number? How about the fake drink producers? They still import fake substandard drinks from pakistan? Dumdum.

I understand the Anambra spirit—the drive, the hustle, the relentless pursuit of success. But at what cost?

What will it profit you to flood Ala Igbo with fake and substandard drugs, knowing they will cause organ failure, suffering, and death? How do you sleep at night knowing that the very people you claim to represent—your own brothers and sisters—are the ones paying the price?

There are lines no man should ever cross. Wealth built on the pain and graves of your people is not success; it is a curse. How did we get to this point where some among us see human lives as mere collateral in their pursuit of riches?

NAFDAC’s rejection of a ₦135 million bribe is commendable, but it is also a reminder of how deep this rot runs. If there are people willing to pay that much to cover their crimes, imagine the scale of what they have already done.

This isn’t just a crime against the law—it’s a crime against Ala Igbo itself. And if we do not condemn it, if we do not fight it, then we are all complicit.

The reason for NAFDAC raid which you have been questioning is to address the criminality and unethical practice of producing fake drugs and flooding it into the country .

You are a obviously someone with a criminal mindset to try and dare to offer excuses and defense for this obvious heartless criminal venture.

What machinery has NAFDAC to detect fake drugs in a market?
NAFDAC must close source of fake drugs, not go into Ariiaria and Ochanja markets to continue with APC government terrorism against the people of the southeast.
If NAFDAC doesn't have machinery to detect fake drug can you make yourself available as guineapig.

Any drug that doesn't have their genuine seal of approval.

Be it authentic or fake isn't the issue.

Once any drug consignment has not been tested and vetted by NAFDAC to be sold in Nigeria , it is considered not only fake but an illegal drug in the market .

Maybe when you have your Biafra shithole you can run your country without any form of regulation or guiding laws.
See senseless blackmail

Nafdac is mostly impounding some foreign drugs with no nafdac number. That doesn't mean that any drug without nafdac number is fake. Most of the special drugs that are meant for special cases are mostly without nafdac number because they are not every day market drugs. They process of going for nafdac number for such drugs that is not every day sell drugs will inflate the price of this so drugs. Nafdac terming it fake because they were not having number is the highest level of deceit.
My friend be reasonable. Can you bring in drugs without certification in any of those countries that you call sane clime?

Not everyone should be able to import drugs and food. They must be approved and each importation have their company name and logo attached to it. If customs allows just anyone to import drugs and food then the customs officers must be jailed.

Nigeria needs to change their laws on importation and make importers have the required background, education and finances approved by government to import these items. When you limit who can import, it’s easier to ensure quality.

You have very low IQ and lack simple reading skills / comprehension.
And while you are at it, I challenge you to point out one place in all my post here where I made mention of changing expiration date.

The laws and regulations are there. It’s not everyone that is allowed to import medications. First they must have a fully registered pharmacy under the supervision of a pharmacist. Secondly the medication must have NAFDAC number.
However, the problem is mostly enforcement at the ports. At every port, there are customs and NAFDAC officials who are stationed for inspection of every shipment.
What do they do? They turn blind eyes and allow everything in, as long as “the price good”. That is why you see most customs including the junior ranks building hotels everywhere.

Not every pharmacy should have the right to import drugs. There should be biomedical company’s like orange drugs who actually produce drugs. They should be allowed to import. If you give just any pharmacy the ability to import then the quality will be bad. They need to make the ports computerized so whoever approves illegally importation of drugs, they will have to sign off on it and will be picked up.

FG can pick one established and respected company per state to import and distribute to all pharmacy’s within the state. It should help with competition of prices around the country and reduce fakes. Any pharmacist that orders drugs outside of the approved importers should also face serious repercussions. There are ways to do these things if the government is serious.

Biomedical is an entirely different body of knowledge. The right people to safe the industry are pharmacists. In Nigeria we have the Pharmacy Council.
But because the regulations are not stringent, the pharmacists are not doing what they are trained to do.
Any practicing pharmacists whose license is used to import fake drugs should loss his license to practice. They are called supervising Pharmacists for a reason. Any pharmacists who is responsible for any pharmacy where fake drugs is found should loss his license.
Those are ethical obligations required to safeguard the public.
Secondly, there is nowhere to know who allowed what medications through the port of entry. These products are usually not declared and most times, they are concealed ( albeit in plain sight). It then begs the question, why will anyone allow such through the port? Official are often compromised. How did over 10 trucks load of fake medicine pass through the ports without anyones knowing about it?
