I remember the way we were taught history and government back then in primary school and secondary schools. They make our invaders appear like heroes… Real African history is never taught. They didn’t teach us of the pyramids and our conquest. Rather, they even taught us to make people that resisted the invaders look like criminals and enemies of progress.. the way the make colonization look like messiahs coming to rescue us, planting real inferiority complex and self hatred in our hearts… It’s time the curriculum needs to be rewritten away from British version… A Nigerian fool somewhere will be saying stupid shitts like, if not for colonization , we won’t know how to read and write, we won’t have phones…. Imagine a fool justifying slavery. People that came to steal your land, erase your identity and destroyed your heritage…?? Ask a typical Nigerian fool why Japan, China and the rest of the world still have their culture and yet technologically advanced…. Another fool will say they stopped the killing of twins… Biko, that was just a small clan in a small part of the country. And everyone had their period of darkness… Another fool will say they stopped human sacrifice… A fool that doesn’t even know that the greatest human sacrifices in history did not even happen in Africa. They happened right in Europe, and Americas Fools will join the white man to say Moungo park discovered river Niger and benue It’s time we need to revisit this stuffs |

I have seen people saying more than this and only to realise that they are still practicing the religion of their colonisers and bearing and giving English names to their children. |

Righthussle:And writing in English instead of their own language, which really mutes the point. Op, when did you go to school where "Real African history is never taught", and "people that resisted the invaders look like criminals and enemies of progress"? Did your school not have a library, and did you not read books and ask questions? |

Colonizers did a lot of damage But they did some good too, or so they thought Uniting various African tribes that usually don't see eye to eye. It did serve the purpose of empire building but came down crumbling with the collapse of the British Empire. But , the damage has already been done. Look at India, named after Indus river which runs entirely in Pakistan because of the way the British partitioned India. That led to the problem In kashmir In west africa, Yorubas were scattered among 3 countries So it is in east Africa too. Colonial legacies all over the world are now seen for what they are, pure evil They created the problem in Palestine too |

In Nigeria they did much good because they ended the Evil Slave Trade and Human Sacrifice which Many leaders had refused to do when they had all the chance |

Christistruth02:Read what I wrote And you still justify colonization? I think some of you need to be sent back to the colonization era to have a real taste of what the people then felt or better still trafficked across the Atlantic Ocean as a slave. Seems that’s what you deserve to learn the pains of your ancestors that had the worst nightmare humanity can experience People that sold your kind like commodities and kept them inside zoo for entertainment, it’s like some of you never read a book in your life nor check what history looked like?? And you say you are educated ?
