If you don't like it, move to Port Harcourt. There's port there now and turn it to no man's land.

In the digital world, programmers and coders try to harmonize their codes such that people from all over the world can participate and add value. It’s never about who started it, but the impact it plays in producing products that are invaluable to human existence.

This current trend by the Lagos government is reinventing a wheel that is a total waste of time, resources and a distraction from more important issues. Nigeria is losing out on being involved in global decision making/ global value chain, can someone explain how knowing physics in Yoruba will aid in building a plane or car? Even China sponsored student to the US and UK to learn in English and bring value home.

The laws/legal system we practice is western and is such that everyone who lives in the region should be able to make use of it. Should all lawyers in SW re-enroll in a Yoruba school of legal studies and start over?

Build more museums instead, invest in heritage sites, build statues, modernize your local cuisines, sponsor carnivals etc.

To those who support this trajectory my question is, is divisiveness the only thing the Blackman is good at?
China is teaching physics in Chinese, Germany in German, France in French, but this idiot thinks it's not good to do that in Yoruba. Na mumu dey worry you.

Translate it into the three major languages too, especially Igbo. Igbos are 50 percent of Lagos population, Hausas are 15 percent and Yerubas are 35 percent
No need.

Yorubas are hosts to all. Successful Igbos and Hausas hear the language and many can speak fluently.

Hausas and Nupe arrived in Lagos before igbos showed up and they are not complaining.

All host regions should do same with their language to advance the rise of true federalism

Much ado about nothing..
Songs of inferiority complex.. Siege mentality..
I mean, do it already and stop with the shenanigans..This noise have been going on since APC came to power.

You can go the extra mile to tell all Yorubas in Lagos not ever transact anything with anyone who does not speak Yoruba. Put your feet down on that and stop disturbing us everyday with all these talk about the need to yorubanise Lagos state.

All I ask for is to have a new financial capital for the country in one of the littoral states. Calabar? Warri? Akwa Ibom? Lagos is tired of "accommodating" us , it is time the get tired of accommodating all the federal government largesse they corner every year..
There!

They speak Yoruba fluently, even their words are almost same as the general Yoruba just intonation that is different.

Egun is no where near Yoruba. Not even close. Alphabets are totally different same as name etc. Awori on the other hand has similarities with Yoruba language.

There are true immigrants who have shown themselves responsible for the institutions in Lagos state...there are some people from other regions whose efforts are to submerge the peace and progress that an average Lagosian is currently benefiting from the state...so, the government should do more in channeling the benefits of the state to aid the wretchedness and challenges of its people in its region territory first before considering sharing such benefits with some ingrates from other

Do you even understand the context at all?

We are talking about Identifying with a tribe, you are talking about the Name

Oduduwa descendants spread across these places. and that made them sons of Oduduwa

Its like asking if Augustus Caesar ever made reference to the word "Italy" since all he knew was just Roman Empire and as such, he isnt Italian cheesy

When Ife kingdom was trading in wheat, cotton, ivory, glassbeads e.t.c with Mali in the 11th -14th century, people from (Ufe) Ife were referred to OloRIOba, ORUBA, yORUBA people & there is one king that is referred to Olori Oba till date i.e. The Ooni of Ife.

More reading below from a book written in 1864.

He was saying that only Oyo people are Yoruba, meaning Ondo,Ekiti and co arent Yoruba...Oduduwa also wasnt Yoruba because he wasnt from Oyo and never used the word "Yoruba"

I understand where he is coming from sha. Because Oyo became very large and an Empire in the 15-18th century, it was misconstrued that they are the Yorubas. They forgot that Oyo itself was an offshoot of Ife just like many other Yoruba towns. Oyo filled the vacuum created after the decline of Ife kingdom.
They are all subgroups of the Yorubas. I.e. Awori, Oyo, Ijesha, Ife, Egba, Okun, Ekiti, Ondo, Ana, Owo, Ijebu, Igbomina, ibarapa, egbado e.t.c These subgroups share a common language and culture, which includes various dialects.

That will be done provided Anambra too will translate theirs to Yoruba. If you are not from south west and you want to trade or work there, learn English. That one is accessible to all. No resources will be wasted on fruitless exercise.

Indeed, the law governing a people should be in their language. English should actually be a translation meant for outsiders if we were in our right state of mind.
Nigeria is multicultural and multilingual almost 500 languages and for this reason English is our lingua franca.
