Honest question

How did they arrive at that rate?

What metrics should we be looking at?

I will need to calculate it myself also...
Price of things has reduced... Like Rice and beans for Example... In Dec, 1 bag of rice is between 90k to 100k but as at now... Is between 65k to 70k

Propaganda!

You left the template that was near perfection and reality-driven to a not-so-intelligent rebased method to conceal the numbers.

Government of Propaganda.
because by using the previous template, the inflation rate may get to 50% which maybe shameful on them. We that operate on the streets know that, any figures from this government is a fake as anything. Tinubu thrive on Propaganda

Good one.

Mumu. Whoever believed NBS figures claiming inflation was at 30%.

The increases you saw in your own markets were 30% abi?

When you are hellbent on lunacy, no rationale argument can save you

When the same NBS announced increased inflation rate figure, you all rushed to believe and dance to the figure without question.
But now that it is positive, you suddenly remembered to ask question.

Like I said in an earlier post, you people are always looking for negative news to dance and masturbate to just because of election loss? And anytime they hear positive news about the country, they suddenly become sad and upset.

This is no more opposition but the spirit of witchcraft that is dwelling in them when you always wish bad thing happens to your country. They better look for a genuine Man of God to conduct deliverance on them before it becomes a mental issue.

The only way that can happen is if subsidy returns. No country in the world sells unsibsidised petrol for the equivalent of that figure.

We need to be realistic with our expectation.

He's actually right. I don't know how they arrived at the percentage but there's a drastic reduction in the price of foodstuffs in the market.

For example, a mudu of beans was N2200 in December, it's N1600 now.

Groundnut was N2500, it's N2300 now.

Farmers are already crying. Those who stored grains are already regretting.

Re: Nigeria’s Inflation Rate Drops To 24.48% by stepaside1: 2:12pm On Feb 18, 2025
Key reason for this drop in inflation rate is the change of base year from 2009 to 2023/2024 to reflect recent trends. Why was this base year left for so long at 2009?

Though prices are gradually coming down, it is still not fast enough for ordinary people on the streets. Much reduced inflation rate is a positive step, next is to sustain crash in forex to bring it to below N1000 to the Dollar, alongside continuous crash in petrol prices to N500-600 per litre range and finally massive food price crash.

We need inflation and interest rates at single digits soon enough.

Useless government using pages of newspapers to reduce inflation.
I know it will come to this when the mediocre president said he would reduce inflation from 34.6 to 15 percent without saying how he would achieve it.
Now he is reducing it on the pages of newspapers.
How did the statistics come?
My brother this is how he intends to get to the 15% it's going to be even 14.75%,they will tell you they surpass their target
This is government that is increasing cost from all angles ,how is that going to bring down inflation, there is a new increament in telecomminication tariff and bank card charges
How will these reduce inflation except on papers

You need to be properly informed
Inflation was rebased so the figure does not mean it dropped. It only reflects the value compared to a more previous year.
What we should watch out for is that of the next month. This present value is not an improvement

How did inflation reduce from 30+ % to 24% suddenly? How? How?
