A prominent Hausa politician is under fire after falsely claiming he mistakenly sent money to an Igbo man who refused to return it. Social media users exposed that his story was a word-for-word copy of another person’s tweet about a similar incident.

That he tagged the banks in the tweet somehow shows it's true, because if those banks reach out to him and discover it is a lie, they'd reveal it publicly.
