Twins, Moses Chris and Marvelous Chris, were killed and buried in a shallow grave in Umuahia, Abia State, by their mentally unstable uncle, Ibekwe Augustine James.

The twins’ mother, Chinomso Nwabali James, was also killed by the suspect before he fled.

Confirming the tragic development to DAILY POST on Wednesday, the Public Relations Officer of the Abia State Police Command, DSP Maureen Chinaka, said the matter was reported at Central Police Station, Umuahia, by a family member.

According to her, the family member reported that on the fateful day, he saw his cousin, who is mentally unstable, dragging the lifeless body of Chinomso Nwabali James.

The alarm raised by the family member caused the suspect to abandon the victim’s body and flee.

The police spokesperson said officers visited the scene of the incident, and the woman’s body was taken to the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia, where a doctor confirmed her dead.

“While searching for the suspect and the missing twins at 2 am, the dismembered bodies of the children were found in different shallow graves within the community,” said DSP Chinaka.

She added that the bodies of the three victims have been deposited at the mortuary in the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia, where an autopsy will be conducted. She further stated that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing mentally challenged suspect.
