Apparently, this new development if implemented would reduce the rate of tanker accidents. However, it’s going to be a real bad business for individuals/businesses that own one or more of those tankers.

Why does our government's solution to every problem involve a ban?

Your own don be,cos most truck drivers in naija are always high on drugs,high on speed,,high on high. Don't even go near dangote truck,or other fuel tankers drivers.keke with okada are a menace ,now its now u guys realised tanker drivers are danger to other road users. A ban will cause more hardship,which will lead to Artificial scarcity of the product,h3nce a massive immediate change in petrol price ,causing more hardship where there would be modified prices to everything.
Traders will jack up price
Retailers will be so happy and tripple price
End user consumer will complain but will still what,would still pay.

I can recall the time when we were importing over 50m liters of fuel a day, even 70 or more.

The number is reducing, and the dangote refinery is playing a role in that.

I'm not a tinubu supporter. Remember the dangote refinery was started under GEJ and the then government helped them get loans for the project from AfDB.

The FG should focus on fixing d roads that are in terrible conditions rather than banning d tankers cos most of d accidents are as result of bad roads

Nigerians are really dumb tbh.
60k carrying capacity obviously carries more weight which destroys the road it plies overtime and will be quite difficult to stop with just braking cause the tractors weren't designed to stop such weights unless modified,which of course most of these operators can't afford the modifications.

problem reaction solution. They want to ban petrol but they dont know how to tell you directly.

The problem has nothing to do with size of the trucks, since they have civil servants terrorists also its not beyond then to have been behind the exploding trucks especially since 2 happen in one day in separate cities in 2024.

Nigerians prepare yourself, you dont have a country, these people are only about creating maximum frustration.

A nation that barely has a functioning road system due to heavy traffic is now going to reduce size of fuel trucks, that means more fuel scarcity to come. And only those who can afford new trucks in this harsh economy will be able to supply.
