Those trucks are wickedness in low places. They put pressure on the roads, on the driver even on the product.
while we were running errands at Aba depot and PH refinery back in the days trucks were only 33k litters and 11k litters.
Infact my oga still belive till this day that there is no truck beyond 33k or 45k litters in capacity. How will I enter into such argument.
If you watch where these 60k and above truck maneuver and make U turns at close range, you ll know they shouldn't be on our roads. Most Northern stations prepare this trucks so they reduce cost in haulage anyway.

Won't this impact the cost of transporting petrol? A trip for a 60,000-litre tanker will now be split into two, and filling stations outside Lagos State will raise PMS prices due to increased transportation costs.

I believe they should thoroughly inspect most of these tankers and only license those that are roadworthy. 60,000-litre tankers operate in every country, and they aren't banned from their roads because they meet safety standards. Additionally, the government should ensure that all roads are in good condition, as many of these tanker accidents are caused by poor road conditions.

Before you ban, have you provided other source of transportation??

Hmm...I forsee fuel scarcity as this is the only means of distribution of the product as there are no pipelines and train/cargo transportation.. .

I guess 59,999 liter trucks are allowed.

The highest should be 35k. Secondly most trucks use the wrong plate for their tanks, they should make it compulsory for all trucks to use the standard plate so has to prevent leakages. All tanks above 36k can be reduced and recalibrated.

The number is reducing, and the dangote refinery is playing a role in that.

I'm not a tinubu supporter. Remember the dangote refinery was started under GEJ and the then government helped them get loans for the project from AfDB.

Oga calm down and stop being stupid. Dangote had stated severally that he can meet Nigeria's demand. The largest single refinery in the world can meet our demand, so there's really no excuse to import. we are not as rich GDP wise as the US, so this excuse is you clutching straws to justify the amount you have been paid to launder the image of this administration.
