90% of the elites who can stand have left the country. The population of internet fraudsters has already tripled that of sound elites. The battle has been lost already! Ghana should take the lead. |

I beg to differ somehow. Yes Nigeria is a powerful force in West Africa and the entire Africa, no doubt. The era of Puting Africa and the west Africa as the centre piece of Nigeria's foreign policy should be jettisoned. Such efforts in time past has earned Nigeria and Nigerians nothing but denigration and ridicule even from the most helped African countries. It is time for Nigeria and Nigerians to help themselves and put themselves first but others!. |

There was so much jokes about him even when he was giving his farewell address to to the parliament ansld his own party members at the parliament openly prayed that Ghana should not have a president like him ever again. He understands the role Nigeria needs to play. Unfortunately, our simplistic leaders and helpless populace cannot comprehend that Nigeria is the hope of the black race and the success of Nigeria is the success of the black race!! Cannibalistic corruption has halted our development and I have always said and still maintain that for Nigeria to suceed, egregious corruption, and electoral fraud must be classified as treasonable felony and punishable by death. I mourn the fact that the black race may never take its rightful place in the world because our people do not understand that this shitttt is bigger than them!! It is bigger than PDP, APC, LP... it is bigger than politics!!! It is almost a divine mandate and should not be toyed with!!! |

valentineuwakwe:He is referring to the political class!!! He is not asking Nigerians to lead west africa and the black race because we are already doing that in many ways!! There is no where you find sucess that you will not see someone of Nigerian descent!! From the time of slavery to the civil rights era and now, Nigerians have paved the way in collaboration with people from other countries, and ethnicities!!! However, the Nigerian political class have failed Nigerians, Africans and the black race!!! |

Nigeria has the propensity to advance growth in the West African region and beyond with share growth vision. We have leaders that see poverty inducement of citizens through weird policies and self enrichment as their call to duty. A nation that sidelines it's bright minds to choose old, whittled and cranked out brains to lead. |

brain54:Our mentality... money above everything else. The elite has been in control of our country for yearsss .... what have they done to move us forward? ...anybody? What have they done to take us backwards?...everybody have something to say. Ibrahin Traoré... youngest President ... has made wayyyy more real progress in Burkina Faso in two years than our elites have done in the last twenty five years....the most respected and admired President in Africa and beyond. He is not an elite. He is not rich ..but like you said ...he has leadership skills and vision for his country. The elite need to be kicked ked out..... let's try something new. |

The man has been busy talking Nigeria lead this, lead that. What's wrong with Ghana taking the lead? All of you have corruption cancer to battle thinking you can do something when there is no righteousness in you. It can never work. Go find out about those countries you are trying to copy. They started out with some measures of fairness, justice, equity, and discipline... not with selfishness, greediness, international thief thief (ITT), etc. Bunch of unserious fellows! |

Nigeria not taking up the mantle of leadership in West Africa and to a larger extent Africa is because of this poor selection/rotation of leadership at the top. We have had sterile leaders in the last three dispensations in Nigeria all because of selfish interest. Past Nigerian leaders such as Buhari, Yaradua, Obasanjo and Jonathan were very poor heads of state. They lacked a clear vision on how to drive the country forward not to talk of influencing its neighbours. From being victims of circumstance to nepotic appointments, all these culminated in a lack of direction on Nigeria's foreign policies. The way forward is for Nigeria to defeat all security threats both internal and external, boost regional trade with neighbouring ECOWAS states, improve road networks and connectivity to ensure free movement of goods & persons and unify the monetary payment system to encourage synergy between regional financial systems. Nigeria has a big role to play in terms of providing leadership, improving security and fostering integration with ECOWAS states but it has to get its internal issues right so as to play a pivotal role in driving regional growth and development. |
