Imagine a prisoner serving for his crime as a farmer

Guns pointing at him to remind him he is a prisoner.

12months - yam, cassava, rice, beans, potatoes go full country. Use d females among dem to fetch water n food the hard way.

Make dem useful. At a tym in asia, prisoners 4 been taught some tech stuffs and dey do it for food n water. Coz dey r prisoners, so no wages or salary.

Make them peel cassava and maize during the day and then go for counselling and rehabilitation in the evening.

We have to maximise every opportunity. Infact, initiatives like this go reduce the level of crime in the society.

Overseas inmates are train on different kind of craftworks even maintenance and repair of gadgets also deploy to farm lands to maximize their potentials
But the reverse is the case in naija.
In naija the sole aim of keeping one in prison custody is to rot there.

Better. Same Nigerian prison was doing before, it is the best way to make them useful and not just eating free food but then they have to be those with minor crime and not those dangerous criminals or death row or maximum detention facility.

This is a great initiative!

But in Nigeria, wẹ should not only stop at using the prisoners only; all the useless skit makers should be captured and taken to the farms to work along with the prisoners.

That is what should be happening all across Africa. In many prisons across the world, prisoners are mined for free labor in exchange for a reduction in sentence,and this is something that ought to be happening the most in Africa. But unfortunately, Africans aren't ready to lift themselves and their nation out of poverty.

Exactly, especially with the amount that goes in as budget every year, they should be productive in one way or the other.

I remember I made a topic about 8,9yrs ago now

In the topic I said; I have figured the problem of food scarcity in Nigeria and this was the exact solution I preferred.

Criminals, prisoners are idling away in cells, when they can be utilized in farming for free. A simple chain bound or armed personels surrounding the acres will ensure no prisoner escapes and in turn for their hard work, a review on lesser prison sentences.


It's simple as ABC

Listen to the narrator, they gave them the keys to their cells and they are responsible for their own security, they are not hardened criminals and are part owners of the prison farms.
Trying to escape is not beneficial to them because they will become fugitives and lose ownership of their farms.

lets even start with having prisoners farm thier own food instead of that rubbish that they eat

We are in the 21st century, for God’s sake! Relying on manual labor to produce food will not solve our problems. What we need is advanced mechanized farming technology.

Many of you who criticize the government would struggle just as much if given power because you lack the knowledge and skills needed to solve real problems.
