This is a Win-Win.
They should let NK do some farming for the common people to eat and export some.
He should not be eating Beans for nothing.

I would keep saying this; God has no plan of creating a country called Nigeria

God has no hands in it🤝

The prisoners have to earn a living... The government can't keep using tax payers money to feed them

What is stopping Nigeria leaders from replicating this in our country.

Imagine a prisoner serving for his crime as a farmer

Guns pointing at him to remind him he is a prisoner.

12months - yam, cassava, rice, beans, potatoes go full country. Use d females among dem to fetch water n food the hard way.

Make dem useful. At a tym in asia, prisoners 4 been taught some tech stuffs and dey do it for food n water. Coz dey r prisoners, so no wages or salary.

Nice one. Out own here are still wasting resources to conduct LG elections.

Our own is repentance! Like terrorists that are special in Killing people for fun has repent. Only because they were their brothers they were rehabilitated and pushed back to the society. Only in Nigeria, no body have ever heard of any country that did such. Country that embrace the terrorists and shoot directly at the Unarmed protesters. Weldon burkina babe

Exactly!

The last time Nnamdi Kanu came to court, he was really looking chubby. His belle and head just dey swell up on top tax payers money.

People like him, Baba Ijebu, Portable and other docked criminals should be made to farm and feed themselves and the nation.

Make them peel cassava and maize during the day and then go for counselling and rehabilitation in the evening.

We have to maximise every opportunity. Infact, initiatives like this go reduce the level of crime in the society.

People like VDM and Sowore won't be itching to go to prison every market day.
Have Tinubu not turned you to prisoner in your own country??

The solutions to the myriad of problems we are facing is staring us in the eye. Our leaders choose to be intentionally blind to the solutions.
So in your mind, this now is a viable solution to a nation’s Agro food crisis?

A country can only work when they get rid of the evil powers that rule them locally and I intentionally

The gi no approve de bill, imagine som politicians carry hoe nd digger de farm shaa, sect of our politicians bo go gree, wen death sentence de hard to implement, if one knows that wen he or she kills not been accidentally, now tell me how one go tink of use knife to cut head of gal or commit murder wen u know de result is instant death sentence not prolong sentence wasting payers money, this is wat Congo applying to rebels in there country, even treason offenders, but here kidnappers re proud nd giv cows nd farm land as rehabilitation
Re: Burkina Faso Turns Prisoners To Farmers by hartson: 10:23am On Feb 21, 2025
Overseas inmates are train on different kind of craftworks even maintenance and repair of gadgets also deploy to farm lands to maximize their potentials
But the reverse is the case in naija.
In naija the sole aim of keeping one in prison custody is to rot there.

Good initiative... That country will prosper in no time.

As for Nigeria....
So prisoners will farm the country into prosperity or what are you suggesting?
Re: Burkina Faso Turns Prisoners To Farmers by Tijani009: 10:33am On Feb 21, 2025
Meaning I am not crazy, because I told someone about doing this and the person said I was crazy
Re: Burkina Faso Turns Prisoners To Farmers by Agugbadin: 10:37am On Feb 21, 2025
Better. Same Nigerian prison was doing before, it is the best way to make them useful and not just eating free food but then they have to be those with minor crime and not those dangerous criminals or death row or maximum detention facility.
Re: Burkina Faso Turns Prisoners To Farmers by finni(m): 10:37am On Feb 21, 2025
This is a great initiative!

But in Nigeria, wẹ should not only stop at using the prisoners only; all the useless skit makers should be captured and taken to the farms to work along with the prisoners.

That is what should be happening all across Africa. In many prisons across the world, prisoners are mined for free labor in exchange for a reduction in sentence, and this is something that ought to be happening the most in Africa. But unfortunately, Africans aren't ready to lift themselves and their nation out of poverty. undecided
Exactly, especially with the amount that goes in as budget every year, they should be productive in one way or the other.
Re: Burkina Faso Turns Prisoners To Farmers by Originalsly: 10:42am On Feb 21, 2025
xprojective .... this is a low blow. Do you really have to embarrass Tinubu and our esteem politicians like this? ....this is a serious blow to the Giant of Africa. Hater. Traitor.

I endorse Traoré for President!

I remember I made a topic about 8,9yrs ago now

In the topic I said; I have figured the problem of food scarcity in Nigeria and this was the exact solution I preferred.

Criminals, prisoners are idling away in cells, when they can be utilized in farming for free. A simple chain bound or armed personels surrounding the acres will ensure no prisoner escapes and in turn for their hard work, a review on lesser prison sentences.

It's simple as ABC
Listen to the narrator, they gave them the keys to their cells and they are responsible for their own security, they are not hardened criminals and are part owners of the prison farms.
Trying to escape is not beneficial to them because they will become fugitives and lose ownership of their farms.
Re: Burkina Faso Turns Prisoners To Farmers by alphaconde(m): 10:49am On Feb 21, 2025
lets even start with having prisoners farm thier own food instead of that rubbish that they eat

It is part of the solution
Ohhh my God!!

We are in the 21st century, for God’s sake! Relying on manual labor to produce food will not solve our problems. What we need is advanced mechanized farming technology.

Many of you who criticize the government would struggle just as much if given power because you lack the knowledge and skills needed to solve real problems.

Good!!!! way to go, I was discussing this with my secondary school friend in Italy last year, see now it has been implemented in Burkina Faso, Nigeria Nigeria it's time to wake up!!!
